Hadn't heard this in a long time....a deceptively hard arrangement ...nothing happens the same way twice ...:)

How many "pounds of swingin' salami" was Mark again? I saw many configurations of Rocket 88. This lineup played one night when I was waiting tables at Oscar's in Wilmington. I overheard Mark tell someone that he loved these guys, and said it was the best lineup he'd ever had. Tommy jumped on a table that night too and was rocking it back and forth. I thought "Shit, he's going fly backwards right over the balcony".

Thank you for having this up! I saw this band at two shows in one day in West Chester and thought they were great. I am glad I bought a cassette at the time, otherwise I would have nothing but the memory. Thanks!

Phillys version of The Tubes. Deserved a major label contract but got blocked by a major Philly club owner. Great band

This was fun to watch. I ran the Book Booth with June for 17 years so I never had time back then to hang at the Beer Garden.

Great new wave/power pop from D&D, better than most of the major label new wave bands of the time, IMO - atomic age record guy and political junkie

I used to see Beru at the Ambler Cabaret every time they played there. If this was filmed there, I was most likely at that show.

Some friends and I were at Ambler Cabaret when Blue Rodeo opened for Beru Revue. It was nearly empty when Blue Rodeo was on, and they were incredible. Some guy was hopping around like a frog at the front of the audience, and a member of Blue Rodeo was mimicking him lol. About 10 minutes before Beru Revue came on, people started pouring through the door like the flood gates had opened. Bob Beru told them, you really missed out on an amazing opening band. What great memories.

Essra is one of the very few great songwriters and singer/performing artists of the early 70s who is still alive and rocking today. I have to add; an excellent song and video.

Ah, the late great Jerry 'Crabmeat' Thompson! Saw him on the back deck of a Route 40 bar way back in the late 1970s. Among other songs he was playing stuff written by the late great John Prine. Had a great time that evening and never forgot it!

Wow! There's a blast from the past. It's my first time seeing this since it was first aired. Man... we had some energy back then. Too much jumping around on my part, but that must've been how I felt in those days. That, AND, we were essentially a New Wave band but for this tune. Huge thanks for posting. Tony "Romeo" Henry
