I was a RN case manager At the big level II trauma center there in Reno. Never in my 12 years did I Arrange an Emergency medevac To Salt Lake City. 100% of the time patients were sent west to California. Strange.

Most of those, if not all, are not CAUSES, but CONSEQUENCES OF ... and that is to be addressed, if not, new "causes" or combinations/permutations of them will continue to happen once in a while ... IMO

Interesting and puts things into perspective. Seems to me a mix of poor piloting in bad weather, IFR etc, but also maybe a rise of single pilots being able to afford, fly these type of aircraft? Although the stall charector of this plane doesn't seem to help when it's such a wing drop, while many have this others are more forgiving. Does this plane have a auto level and auto home button? I see TBM's now have these and a auto level, and auto home may help. Such a shame of the pax & families lost in such incidents. I still find accidents interesting even if hard to learn when such loss of life is saddening.

So very sad, My family and I have been attending the Nelon concerts for decades, There death was so devastating, We loved their singing, They were our favorite gospel group, Our love for the Nelons, goes way back, to the early 80s, when we attended a concert of The Nelons, when Rex Nelon was the bass singer, and Jerry Thompson was the tenor singer and Kelly's first husband and Karen Peck Gooch and Todd Nelon was the bass guitarist of the group, We loved the Nelons so much and we miss them so much, Rest in Peace, We wont ever forget you, you will always have a special place in our hearts forever.

These medevac crashes make me think I'll wait for the dog sled to show. You guys are flying into weather and terrain with power lines ( which just got a chopper this week) hats off to you. Don't be afraid to say no. If you get fired for saying no, find your local I - Team investigates.

I was listening to the first responders radio transmissions. I remember it took them a while to even get to the crash site and one officer arrived first because some others had to go around another route (there was also some grass fires started). That officer called in and told them to cancel the medical helicopter that there would be no survivors. I forget his exact wording but I seem to recall him indicating that the cockpit and tail of the plane were mangled together, so that kind of gives the idea of the rate at impact.

Great legacy to leave behind. I'm not a pilot - but recognizing arrogance and lack of self control [i.e. blowing up at things going wrong instead of thinking]. I would have thought that a pilot, finding themselves in such a situation, would have said forget the flight computer and JUST NAVIGATE manually. Better than fiddling with the computer all the way into the water. On the roads we have people fiddling with their phones (computers) all the way into the grave. JUST NAVIGATE...errr DRIVE.

I'm not a pilot - but?! - Apparently didn't understand their own equipment. It didn't sound like a malfunction as the words "I don't know" were said multiple times. - Didn't worry that alarms were sounding before even starting to taxi. - Didn't prepare the flight plan before takeoff and so decided to pass that workload to inflight. - Made many many mistakes in navigation while fiddling with the computer that they both admit not knowing how to do things on. (Again I'm not a pilot so maybe I don't understand) Why didn't they stop and just forget the computer and FLY THE PLANE? Can't they look on their flight maps and just navigate by hand to the waypoints? This wasn't an accident. This was inevitable. (By the way - the repeated "Dad" comment near the end from pilot #2? Possible that pilot #1 [PF], having shown complete inability to control his emotions and continued to become more upset, had a heart attack and that is what the final dive was?)

I just land yesterday A320 fenix there, with the 3rd go around. Was going to try to go there on night time. But ATC said decent to fl 80 and plain was screaming terrain pull up, when i changed time from night to morning, i was 200 meters from mount to smash it. Had to straight away switch off AP and pulled up stick. 🤣 Was sweating and screaming. Coz stupid ATC was annoying me by giving me wrong info. 😅 But in the end landed with over landing speed like 150kts but did it🎉

Yes please have respect, people loved the ones that lost their lives plus there’s still a daughter left that lost her whole family that may be reading this !

Can’t imagine these folks not knowing, that this pilot is incapable of flying this plane without autopilot. If they had known, nobody would’ve boarded.

I have been following the updates since the crash. So sad. I would like to see some pictures of the crash site and plane (not the people).

Some pilots use the autopilot, others need it and a few rely on it.

That has to be the most shockingly incompetent cockpit clusterf*** I have ever come across. And I just assumed it was yet another amateur pilot with more money than brains, in over his head with his expensive toy. When I went to look for more information on this incident, I was totally floored to find out that this was a company plane and the person flying it was a commercial pilot who was hired to do so. I kept digging as I tried to wrap my head around the idea that a commercial pilot could be so damned incompetent and I wanted to see what his actual background was, I found that he had been a mechanic, then director of maintenance, and then a pilot for a charter company - and his former employer at that company said that he was one of his best pilots, the most experienced in that aircraft, and great in it. I find that description very difficult to reconcile with a person who is taxing to the runway without a flight plan and without any concern about a master caution alarm with unknown cause, and gets even worse from there. WTAF

What happened at this airport? I've landed and taken off many times here including at dusk, although it has been several years, prior to this incident. The yellow cones were displaced further down runway 14. Why were the cones moved closer to the power lines and trees?! See my landing on runway 14 back on April 15, 2017. Sorry for the poor video quality and dirty windscreen. Video taken before cell phone video quality got really good and before Go Pros, etc. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5vHdYmoi92UsJY I have a higher approach angle to clear the power lines as is required here, but after I touchdown and roll out you can see the yellow cones much further from the power lines and trees.

Low levels of experience combined with complex aircraft will result in more of these stories. Airplanes will ,and do, kill indiscriminately. They don’t care about net worth.

But you never gave the cause of the crash! Do the engine fail? Who knows, you never said! Did they pass out from engine fumes? Did the propeller pop off? Did they spin in? This video leave the viewer VERY wanting.

I saw the whole trascript for this flight on another video. The pilot on this flight was a complete buffoon.

The pilot was more worried about how his Trump shirt looked on himself that day instead of flying the plane correctly. I can't believe he was allowed to fly this plane with that shirt on. I know it would have bothered at least two of the Nelon family. I would have never let any pilot fly my family with any political shirt on. Many people are very upset over this. We pray for our friends.

On 25 Feb. 2021, I took a Medi-flight from Reno to Palo Alto (Moffit Field) in the PC-12 Tail number N2735SM, which crashed a year and a half later, to unknown causes. I liked the flight. 2 nurses, but only 1 pilot... Smooth flight, new looking/feeling aircraft. No complaints. I even beat Terminal cancer as well!

I'm not a pilot, so please correct me if I'm wrong. But is it not in poor etiquette to just have a plane? Being flying by itself? I mean, do pilots not take any pride and proficiency. You buy this beautiful plane. You count on the auto pilot and then you wonder why everybody dies?
