Looks like if Labour win the General Election (is it in doubt?) then the plan is going to need re-writing. According to the media during the Kings Speech the new Starmer led Government will announce a council-led review of green belt land that will be reclassified for development plus a host of other measures to support the “build,build, build” approach to build new homes. Along with Labour’si plans to allow pylons to be erected across the country to bring onshore and offshore electricity to towns and cities, it will be interesting to see if an equivalent of the Sheffield tree campaign emerges linked to sensitive sites. As ever, it’s easy to make pledges before elections but much harder to implement once residents are impacted by decisions.

A bit like watching paint dry! Interesting how the home builders come in force and challenge the plan (they want to build houses). Problem is that the plan is so complicated that even the council folk are struggling to make sense of the categories, policies, strategies etc. You can tell from the body language of the inspectors that they are not impressed by the presentation and explanation of the plan. If all these “professionals struggle to explain/ understand the plan then what hope for our local residents. Please can the Council produce a simpler less complicated plan that we can all understand. We might then be able to comment.

I like SHEFFIELD CITY. I do not like the way SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL ignores the people that live here being used and taken advantage of by the city council because we have learning difficulties or special needs I have been put in a area where I did not choose to be I was told I had to be here other wise I would not have any where to live I had struggled during COVID for 2 years and the council have done nothing for me just because having 4 security guards inside the council may help it wont last forever and corruption is high everywhere in this country now.

Ok, I understand getting children to school on time, but asking for perfect attendance??? That is only teaching children from an early age that they should not take a break, even if they are sick or need a mental health day.
