I've driven in deeper snow and mud with this generation Ridgeline and never got stuck. Looks like he didn't engage then vtm 4 locker.

There is no switch. Its all time awd. Activates itself when it detects slippage. In other words you cant turn it off or on

The car is very excellent, but if it has a stronger engine and the transmission is ( manual or automatic )not CVT, it will be better .
