All pretty good, I did not like the part where you said “I don’t have time to explain this but you can buy this book” that sort of thing rubs me the wrong way

I’m interested. Despite the silly name for my profile, I actually am a pastor of a local church.

- Rick Warren emphasizes the importance of structuring small groups for spiritual growth. - He advocates for two types of gatherings: large group worship or celebration and small group fellowship, as seen in the Bible. - Small groups are likened to the cells of a healthy body, and they play a crucial role in preventing people from leaving the church. - Saddleback Church considers small groups not just as a program but as an integral part of their church, with over 7,000 small groups across multiple cities. - The strategy is based on the New Testament model of Acts 5:42, where the early church met both in the temple courts for large group celebration and in houses for small group fellowship, even without church buildings and in times of persecution.

This message is interesting to me because I recently had been - for one year - involved in a small group in my retirement community. And we had a "Bible Study" as our only activity plus a little bit of getting to know each other and praying for one another. But we were all from different churches. And I was from a different tradition and/or different Bible understandings than the others. I was discouraged and decided to quit it. ..........In contrast, at church, we have a small group and I am really enjoying it. And one reason - I think - for my enjoying it (and I have been there for two years) is that it is all done in the context of total church. I mean we have our worship service and eucharist as common experiences together. We will just agree to disagree respectfully when we see some topic differently than each other.. I don't know if there really is a principle involved here. But it seems like it works better to have the small group as a subset of the church group.

I'm glad I discovered the bible recap. It gives me the opportunity to get close to God. I don't have to learn something every day, but I can be with the Lord and fill myself with spiritual food and drink. Never have I loved to read my bible than now since I know TBR. Love from a bible reader from.Belgium🫶🇧🇪

I love this! God gave you a huge ministry, when you were on His mission, even though it started as a way to "find a spouse"- you and several others, you said. God's sense of humor is SO GREAT, and SO MUCH FUNNIER than I am ! Love it love it love it!

I live the fact that you felt comfortable enough to approach the leaders at a mega church. Maybe bc the pastor that challenged you was there. But I've been to multiple churches and NEVER felt comfortable even going much less approaching someone. And when I did ever so gingerly, humbly, along if something was ok to do as a, especially as a woman. It was totally shut down. For multiple reasons we no longer attend that church. And have since found a community of believers that we love and they love and welcome us.

I understand and like the idea of sub-grouping but there has to be a point when the group can't continue to grow larger by allowing new members. How do you communicate that w/o offending?

Why are we quoting these modern Bibles which we can't even recognize?. Stick with the King James and stop destroying Christianity in the English world. Stop changing that which has been established for over 400 years and aiding this latter day superficial Christianity.

What I heard of the backstory was about to wrap up into a nice interview. However… Content creators should look into re-editing the outgoing music, as it drowns out the ending of the interview. Here’s the time stamp for reviewing 05:20

Just a note re: CBS comment at 24:30 - My group in Lake Oconee GA meets as an entire group with an Opening (~ 200 women, non-denominational, in a local host church) and then we break into small Core Groups (15 people each) for discussion; then regroup with everyone and our Teaching Director for more in-depth education.
