They should have all took turns hitting the same spot with the heaviest rocks they could lift and swing with both hands like a bat. Preferably ones with a sharp edge on it. Actually, if they just threw that one huge rock at the center of the windshield instead of the side window it would have shattered into thousands of tiny cubes as it is designed to do on impact for safety reasons.
