The true way to fix this is putting diesel gasoline with oil 50 /50 and let in idle for 1 hour , then change your oil twice band fixed my issue 2005 655ci
@snesoey Жыл бұрын
You really didn't have to do all the work on the first part. It comes off quite easy without removing it. Only one screw and 4 clicks needed.

One other way is to fill up engine oil to the maximum level..and use thicker oil ..the noise will go away and car runs smoother..

Start and slowly drive the car do not idle it like this, drive the car , work the gears and do not go past around 4k rpm till it reaches 100 degrees or close to ...do not rely on the amber lights, after this you can go drive it like u stole it. (letting the engine sit and or rev it takes longer and is associated with carbon build up which is damaging to the engine) This goes to all petrol cars in general.

Grade 40 oil is too thick for fuel economy. 30 would be better, unless your car is already burning oil.

@tumbleweed77002 жыл бұрын
adding 5 liters of oil in a Kia Picanto 1.2 engine will almost certainly cause serious engine damage shortly after firing up. The rated oil capacity following an oil and filter change is 3.6 liters, read up details in this video description or carefully check your vehicle service manual
@the_uknow1077 Жыл бұрын
On the owner’s manual kia said that the oil capacity il 2,9 liters for the 1.0 and 3,5 liters on the 1.25.

Nice! Will this work for the E39 M54 engine?
@tumbleweed77002 жыл бұрын
FYI I did not encounter any engine ticking issues in my 1999 M52TU engine (bought new, done 150 000 km) and not aware of serious valve lifter oil starvation issues on the M54 engines. Ticking noises can also originate from your fuel injectors or from the Vanos mechanism, sometimes due to low oil pressure or degraded oil

Hi. That's temporary fixed. That's not repaired. I have the same problem as many bmw owners. If you really fix that ticking noise, please share. I will be happy to understand what is the real problem. Thanks friend.
@tumbleweed77002 жыл бұрын
Howdy - yes it's temporarily fixed if the car is not frequently used. When the car is used regularly this procedure will probably only be required to be applied periodically (I guess every couple of years or so). Caused by oil starvation in hydraulic lifter(s) requiring bleeding when ticking is detected during startup - lifter is sucking up air instead of oil. Permanent fix requires removal of the cylinder head & lifter replacement. If the described procedure is not applied at the first signs of ticking, the tick can become permanent which I witnessed, forcing you to remove the cylinder head to replace all the lifters, while the converse is true - attended to early by applying this procedure or periodically as required can allow your engine to go tick-free for almost the rest of it's useful life. I'm guessing BMW engineers were at the edge of the lifter oil circuit specification limits (as they usually are in their component designs - which is why they can extract the last kilowatt out of any of their engines), and with these hydraulic lifters slight deviations in manufacturing tolerances (socket, plunger, body, check ball) account for the oil supply issues. Not catastrophic in the early stages but you don't want your silky smooth BMW V8 or N52 6 cylinder sounding like there's a bag of marbles loose in the engine.

Does IT Stay AWAY after days ore week ore ? Thanks
@tumbleweed77003 жыл бұрын
Stays away as long as you don't keep the car in extended no-start mode for months on end. But if it does return, just takes 3-4 minutes of "bleeding" to resolve the oil flow in that affected lifter. BMW can do a permanent resolve "for an arm & a leg". Have seen/ heard an E90 6 cylinder engine just get worse because the owner didn't perform this simple procedure & also didn't want to take the car in to replace the lifter. My brand new E90 6 cylinder engine used to do this when i had <10 000 km on the clock. Performed this procedure twice when I first heard the ticks. Engine now has covered over 140 000 km & purrrs like a cat. This is not a catastrophic mechanical issue as long as the owner recognizes the symptoms then does something about it. Importantly that tick won't go away after just driving "normally" even for extended periods, the procedure has to be performed as demonstrated.
