Mine was a 2007 and the way to check the coolant level is put it on the jiffy stand (kickstand) and flip your seat up. There should be a fill line on your bottle. Just make sure you’re right at it. I hope this helps you.

@roadkingtales Жыл бұрын
The service manual recommends the Harley brand extended life anti-freeze. Or an anti-freeze with de-ionized water and ethylene glycol base may be used. The bike was running hot with whatever was in there. I don’t think it was the correct fluid. She runs like a dream in the Texas sun now.

So far so good! I have a bout 15,000 miles on it since I changed the coolant. She’s about due for another flush. Runs cool as a cucumber. I strongly recommend it and it’s easy to find and cheaper than the Harley brand.

thank you for the Vid, seems like your the only one with the almost same year vrod. my question is how did you bet the the hose connected ?
@roadkingtales2 жыл бұрын
The fitting on the end of the hose fits inside the bleed fitting. It just barely goes in so you gotta watch it. If you have another set of hands it’s easier. I got lucky and was able to get it to stay.
@michaelquintana75532 жыл бұрын
@@roadkingtales Thank you brother for the answer , last question, would you happen to have a video on how you placed it on there or pics of it?
@roadkingtales2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelquintana7553 No I don’t, sorry! If you’re using the same setup you’ll have to place it a couple time to get the hose to stay in place. Keep the bottle lower than where the fluid comes out. It helps to drain it. You should wrap a rag around the drain fitting to catch any spills too. I didn’t in the video so you could see where it’s connected. Hope that helps.

I’m not sure where you could get a longer one. The stock one has a lot of room for adjustment. I wear a size 13 Dr. Marten steel toe and my boot fits just fine under there. People sell custom shift linkage for all the other bikes so you might get lucky digging around.

200,000+ KMs on my V-Rod, replaced a few of them bushes. Trick is to put a few drops of oil on from time to time, they wear out less. Also when I moved away from the mountains, not dragging the stand on the ground in the corners so often = less pressure on the bushes

Actually, I've seen bikes come from Harley with the clip on top (07 Heritage). The older model touring bikes had a Great kickstand (nut on top with lock plate)- very easy to replace spring but they had to change it.
