Please don't call them "Red Rattlers". That is a MELBOURNE expression that seems to have crept into Sydney after the event. They were never called that in Sydney when they were active. I'm old enough (76) to remember.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s so sad that the Bally Hooley Railway closed down permanently in recent years. I will be up at Cairns, Ravenshoe and Port Douglas in early December as I am keen to explore the steam and diesel locomotives in the area.

@railmediaproductions3677 Yeah, it's ashame it closed down, It was a popular attraction, but it was a shame no one wanted to buy it. Also, besides the Cairns Kuranda Locos and sugar trains, you should also check out the Raveshoe and Herberton railways if you get a chance

Thanks, this was great.
