You don't need to say you are an atheist, you can know miles away by looks alone, and yet somehow you believe you look original for some reason. In any case AI does better music anyway. Soon everyone will generate their own music and artists will have to find an actual job. I mean, it is the next logical step: traditional instruments and religious music -> Secular computer music -> AI music.

The “im an atheist because religion is man made” is kinda ironic don’t ya think? It takes a human being to come up with the idea that there is “no god” and live by that world view just as much as it takes someone to believe in a higher power and live by that as well. Therefore I would say atheism is just as much a religion. And just like about every religion, there are diff sects, or degrees to which ppl practice them just like ppls personal belief/ approach to atheism. In the end you are in fact putting limits to your creativity just as much as a legalistic catholic by labeling yourself an atheist. In the end there are in fact rules and limits in this reality that we cannot change and patterns that are already set in motion; why deny that? Btw I enjoy your videos and they are inspiring 💯

@lauedbeatz5655 Atheism simply rejects the CLAIM that god exists, it does not MAKE a claim that god does not exist. you're literally doing a super tired and honestly pretty dumb meme argument when you say "atheism is like a religion". Look at the definition: " in deities". It does NOT say: " that there are no deities". There is a difference. it's basically just "i don't believe you". Atheism does not have an rituals, practices, dogmas, rules, churches, etc. - nothing that would qualify it as a religion in any way. Atheists are not saying that a god could NEVER possibly exist, we are simply saying we don't believe when you claim your god is real because you haven't shown any evidence or proof. “Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby.”

IMO an electric instrument like a synthesizer is a ball point pen, an acoustic guitar is a #2 pencil. Both are instruments of expression. Give either to a child and that expression is raw and pure as you describe, but as that child ages and learns to write their native language, the vocabulary to express what they feel is expanded but limited to those that can read that language. A child's drawing is more universal in understanding and thus 'resonance' with other people. A poem written in 1732 using a specific southern French dialect is metaphorically a musical genre. People may learn to write that dialect and not know the French language, emulating how it sounds, flubbing structure to sell records, err I mean poems, hahah. Thus the big bad wolf of music theory is simply a vocabulary some of us use to communicate, since art can be abstract, having that jargon available as a shorthand is useful when musicians interact. 'What key are we in?' is the main example. It isn't used to gatekeep or obscure because if you go super deep, you end up finding you can literally do anything, erasing the stability or predictability of that structure. e.g. when radiohead does a song that bounces between 4/4 and 6/4, it's really only the critics and musical transcriptioners that have issue, if people like the song it has nothing to do with musical theory. Western music theory can be learned with 2 mnemonics. (#)Fat Cats Get Drunk At Ed's Bar & (b)Bears Eat At Dad's Garbage Can First You'll notice if you reverse the first letters of the first one, they match the first letters of the second one. If the order that sharps or flats appear is static, it's less mysterious(and a rule for others). That is what those 2 mnemonics do. Sharps or flats appear in the same order in the circle of fifths. If you see a piece of sheet music and it has 3 sharps, they are going to be F, C and G. Now, you know which keys to play.

music can be to be chaotic and adhere to no rules at all or it can be completely based on musical theories. the musical rules we follow breed form and come from generations of trial and error. slowly figuring out things that sound good to us. depending on your personal taste you might prefer music that is rule based and structured or you might like things that are chaotic with no structure. Me i like things in the middle. that perfect blend of familiar and strange. a pop songs gone in a strange direction. artists like the beatles or 100 gecs come to mind. just some thoughts that come to mind. cheers fam.

This is a fascinating perspective. I think too often we fall into that trap of “I want people to listen to me” rather than “I want to play freely, openly, and true to myself.”

This is an important conversation. It’s too easy to get into the habit of recreating what you’ve heard and liked. Especially if it’s heard and liked by others. It kind of takes over your creative life as you make more and more decisions against yourself until there’s no YOU left in it at all!

I think the 12 semi tones notes equal temperment is running out of options, like the riff i compose right now, has likely been done before and i just dont know it. The 12 notes equal temperment seems like a dogma, religion, imposed on all of us, as the only way to make music. What are your thought on microtonal music? is it something worth exploring for you?

Love the Videos Brotha! Just A Heads up for the 4:3 video format uploads! If you make the video 3072x2304, it exports at the true 4k 4:3 aspect ratio and won't have the Black bars on the sides of your video on youtube.. (not that you asked for the info, just wanted to share because It was a process I had to figure out myself since i dig the 4:3 ratio a lot as well.)

Appreciate that! And noted. I do not know why, but I like the black bars not only vertically, but horizontal too. It definitely does something to my mind. Even though this was not actually 4:3 and the one I posted the other day was not shot on an anamorphic. Both looks make me feel some type of way.
