I never touch fisherman’s pots if I’m not 100% sure they have been lost or not. I know a fisherman would be annoyed if they are tampered with. I could have let them go off camera but didn’t have the chance as the tide was pulling so hard. 👍🏻

Well, that was a surprise seeing the John Dory. You don’t see them too often when anybody dives and all them abalone shells all on the ground oh what I could do with those oh my goodness all that mother of pearl I could make a lot of things with those and they were so big Goodness and I did love this way the seagrass just flowed in the water so peaceful so serene I can see why you like being under there so pretty❤❤❤
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
The John Dory was nice to see it swimming as I have only seen them stopped. Lovely colours on its skin, a golden colour. Yes I would live under the sea and it’s only my family stopping me 😂😂. Stay safe Grace

Love the cannonball,.... is that likely to have been fired from Belgreve loop hole tower (no 2)..??
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
Hi Phil it could have been fired from Salarie, Hougue A La Perre, Kempt battery or the Loop Hole tower but my guess would have been Hougue a la Perre. Thanks for watching 👍🏻😁👍🏻. There was a floating target in the area for hitting on practise days.

Good video JP as much as I have always ate shellfish and seafood and enjoyed it and whilst I know they are highly prized in Guernsey just don't think I could stomach an ormer its up there in my eyes with jellied eels which is another no no lol winkles, whelks, scallops ,cockles, mussels prawns crabs and lobsters all good .
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
Hi Chosen one. Ormers are an acquired taste and are pretty tuff if not cooked properly or prepared properly. I like the taste but my body has decided to steer clear of them 😂 . I go ormering on the tides as my dad and farther in-law love them. It’s a great excuse to get the kids out and down the beach too 👍🏻😁👍🏻

What does 4K mean? Obvious not 4,000!
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
Hi Pcka12 4K is the resolution I’m filming at. It the next one up from High Definition. It’s as good as we are going to get on KZbin at the moment but many people don’t care what resolution it’s in really. It makes a massive difference in my own opinion when viewing on a 4K Tv. Filming in 4K allows you to zoom in 50% and still keep the 1080 HD quality. It takes for ever to upload my videos (8 hrs) as the 4K has so much information. 😁👍🏻
@pcka123 күн бұрын
@scubadive OK, thanks, I tend to think in terms of depth with diving, so traditionally, fathoms & now metres, which is a bit more than half a fathom. A thousand metres would be unlikely on the continental shelf.
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
This dive is very shallow at 8m deep. 👍🏻😁
@pcka123 күн бұрын
@scubadive yes, I always tend to prefer the first 10m or 33 feet with much marine life on view more colour still visible in natural light from the surface, also you have far more time to wander about on a single tank/cylinder without fear of running into decompression time.

Nice video in an interesting area, personally I would have released the fish, they are doomed to die! I have pulled out a fair few lobsters from the bottom of the wall while free diving, I have also seem a few conger but it is a heavily worked mark.
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
Hi mate. I was tempted to release the fish but as the pots looked so new I didn’t want to touch them. I know a diver which pots across the harbour mouth with no buffs to the surface so was worried it wasn’t lost. I didn’t see any lobster this time. I think I know whose pots they are now so maybe going back to lift them anyway but the fish maybe gone 😩. 👍🏻😁👍🏻

Thanks JP. Another great dive, I'd be interested to learn how you treat the cannon balls, so they don't rust away. Stay Safe Mate.
@scubadive3 күн бұрын
Hi Martin. I put them in fresh water for about 1 year and change the water as often as possible. Then I’m a solution of caustic soda for another year then slowly dry it out by slowly lowering the level of the water in the tub then use a wet towel. I then keep them dry and under cover in an unheated space for 2-3 months then take them inside the house in the utility where is still cold ish then slowly into my study. Hopefully by then it’s ok and hasn’t cracked up yet. 👍🏻😁👍🏻 I may film a bit of it one day 👌🏼
