I use a Canon R7 & Canon RF100-500mm f7.1. I had the Canon 100-400mm ii before that which was also an amazing lens and can be found for much cheaper. The downside is that it's heavier. I started birding with my cell phone camera, then borrowed my dad's old digital camera, then got a "bridge" camera, before finally getting my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel SL2. After that I got the Canon Eos 90D. I used a Canon 400mm f5.6 prime lens without image stabilization for my first couple years, eventually getting that 100-400

@@dimaharshi You get some amazing shots still! It's pretty amazing what bridge cameras can do nowadays but a DSLR/Mirrorless camera helps obviously!

@@EarNoodles yes will upgrade once the budget allows as mirrorless are very expensive these days

@@dimaharshi They sure are. Luckily a store here had my lens for $600 off plus a 24 month payment plan with 0% interest. As long as you are enjoying yourself that's what matters, but I understand wanting the ability to get better videos and photos.

I try to capture the ambient nature sounds instead of hearing some big ape breathing. This video is from when I first started birding almost 3 years ago and I didn't bother editing it. Oh well :)
