DO NOT get any surgery here. I had to get surgery here after a month of deteriorating health spent in the hospital. I was admitted to the respiratory ICU where nurse Liz screamed at me, yanked my infiltrated IV, and threw a heart monitor connector at me in room s523 on June 16, 2024. I noticed there was a camera. Please check the footage. If that wasn't enough, on june 26, 2024, it was just 23 hours after my total colectomy and ileostomy. Nurse Mariah on the 9th floor in room 929 ignored my calls for 2 hours until I was in so much pain I couldn't speak then she ignored me for another hour. I could only whisper the word "pain" until she finally medicated me. The pain meds wear off after 2 hours. That's a grand total of 5 hours without medical treatment less than a day after they quite literally ripped my guts out. If that wasn't enough of a reason to not get surgery there, here's another thing. After I contacted the floor manager for the 9th floor to report nurse Mariah's negligence, the floor manager was kind enough to schedule a meeting WITH THE NURSE THAT IGNORED MY CALLS who just so happened to be the nurse who was in control of my discharge. Of course I couldn't be honest when my discharge was being held over me.

I am a 71 yr old female. I was sitting in bed reading and just could not process the simple words I was reading. I got up and thought I needed my glasses. I was walking fine and everything was normal. I went to my neighbors. My sisters came and got me and took me to ER and it scan revealed a TIA. They also detected an unrelated 6mm aneurysm and a smaller 2mm one. I recovered quickly and believe I may have not even noticed it if I had been on one of my walks.

I have a BP machine at home. I can take my BP every 15 minutes and it will be different every single time, by a lot. To stress over some rudimentary number is idiotic. When my BP is low, I have no energy, I fall asleep on my feet. When my BP is high, I can play 2 football games in a row, come home and cut my grass and fix my car and not feel tired.

I’ve been carnivore and Intermittent Fasting for 7-8 months . I’ve lost almost 80lbs , H1C dropped from 5.7 to 5.2 , blood pressure dropped to 110/65 average from 140/82 Resting heart rate is low 60s . Mental focus is better , depression is decreased , psoriasis is gone , and the huge benefit is my Pulmanary Sarcoidosis I was diagnosed with in 2018 and declared chronic last year with fibrosis of then lungs had improved so much, I no longer use my daily inhaler and able to exercise again. The standard American diet is killing us , seed oils , sugars and processed food need to be gone .

I just had my 15th (16th? Lost count) electrocardioversion yesterday, after a first one in 2005, for paroxysmal a-fib. (And a thyroid ablation, a cardio ablation, and various medications along the way as we’ve tried to prevent more.). The technology, drugs, and procedures have improved immensely over the last 20 years. Yes, there are complication risks; yes, the “chest sunburn” is obnoxious. And I find some drugs (propofol) better to recover from than others (Etomidate). But the overall procedure is super effective, relatively painless, takes maybe a day to recover from, and leaves you feeling so much better than being in arrhythmia. People shouldn’t fear the procedure, done at a knowledgeable hospital.

lol / humans do not and never needed carbs. Eat meat and vegetables. You never need bread, sugar, potato’s, rice and so on and so on. Diabetes is not a disease, it’s another way to say you eat far too much sugar. Period.

Lot of fighting down in the comments - people sharing anecdotes about loved ones and themselves. Here's the thing: There are significantly different types of heart failure. If you've got systolic heart failure (where the heart has become weak) you can change your diet, take medications, exercise, and strengthen the heart muscle. If you have diastolic heart failure the heart muscle hardens and loses it's elasticity the treatments are pretty much non existent (and one-third of people - including myself, I suspect - have diastolic heart failure). They are both heart failure but they are very different conditions. Before anyone tells anybody how long someone with CHF is going to live one would need to know a lot about the precise nature of their disease and their overall health. From what I've seen there are much better treatments for systolic heart failure than there are for diastolic heart failure - sucks being me. I haven't been formally diagnosed but just had a bunch of tests and in a phone call yesterday I learned my ejection fractions is 55 to 60 - normal But, I have swelling in my abdomen and legs, dizziness, extreme fatigue, etc. and ejection fractions for people with diastolic heart failure can be 70 - patients with this form of heart failure present with what's called "preserved ejection fraction". So all the questions, below in the comments, regarding ejection fraction can be meaningless depending upon the exact nature of one's heart failure. The bottom line: Prognosis is gonna vary, but, of course it will shorten your life - unless something else gets you first. To say that is, or, is not a death sentence is just an incomplete explanation. And, as I've explained, there are different forms and various co-morbidities that can effect how long someone lives.
