Compulsive show-off Nigel Kennedy takes so many tasteless liberties dynamically, tonally and tempo-wise in this performance of Kreisler's mini-masterpiece that its charm and grace and meaning are utterly destroyed. The composer's clear indication is that the work is "In the style of Pugnani" who was Italian. The only thing remotely Italian about Kennedy's RS and Bust performance is that it is played on a Guarnerius del Gesu violin, a great 1733 example of which Kreisler fell in love with and played exquisitely for most of his career to enraptured audiences the likes of which Kennedy even at his most sensitive and virtuosic, in my opinion, has not the slightest hope of moving emotionally.

Compulsive show-off Kennedy takes far too many liberties dynamically, tonally and tempo-wise to the point where the wonderful charm and grace and refined drama of this masterpiece of Kreisler is utterly destroyed. And that in defiance of the composer's very clear indication that the composition is "in the style of Pugnani" who was Italian. Kennedy's performance is so RS and B it tastely desecrates Kreisler's memory and his artistry both as a violinist and a consummate composer.

Блестяще! Особенно ценно то, что нет излишнего вибрато, чем грешат многие современные певицы, чувствуется высокая культура звука, краски в голосе, отменный музыкальный вкус. Надо также указать имя концертмейстера, иначе это неуважительно, аккомпанемент также прекрасен.

And the Pianist Lusine Khachatryan is his sister, She is a prizewinner in the International Piano Competition in “Città di Ostra”, “Città di Marsala”, in Italy (2003), and in the 2nd European Piano Competition in Normandy, Ouistreham and Le Havre, France (2009).
