Just use soldering iron and fix 2 legs on opposite sides, gently press on top and preheat. Use quality flux will help for better results. If you want to do chip level repair and make money you have to spend money for eqiupment.

Serious CPU bottleneck. I don't it's a good pairing. GTX 980m is very powerful & that CPU will not be strong enough for it.

I been running the same mono for five years now with a r5 3600. The board needs a bios update to be able to run gen3 and newer ryzen. They had to replace the bios with a smaller version to be able to run the later cup

I have a HP Zbook 17" G3 with NVIDIA Quadro m5000 gpu. I play this old game and I need to get max fps 120. I currently get 80-90fps. I know my gpu is the bottleneck. My current gpu uses Bus Interface MXM-B (3.0) and I need to stick with NVIDIA as it is an old game.. Do you think I can upgrade to newer gpus like Quadro P5200 Mobile as it uses MXM-B 3.0 bus interface as well?

In theory, yeah. The only problems though, are the possibilities of gpu differences, along with the heatsink not lining up with the mxm gpu's die.

same issue with Ryzen 5 3600 i was update bios recently 7C02v1J1(Beta version) after 3 days my computer totally shutdown automatically i won't power up , i'm confused and try to rollback my bios 7C02v1J1(Beta version) to downgrade but unfortunately i got field during bios update from working bios Mflash method , than i've to go flash it via flashback button complete all process red light flashing slow than its flashing very very fast 4/5 minutes computer turned reboot after complete bios update and red light stop alright now i install processor but its not going to power on by power button self so i've remove that processor and try to power up again with power button yes this time computer power up but cpu red light on its was done or not i don't no so let me try to remove bios chip today and try to flash it via RTF Programer than i will discuss with you it's going to working or not , can any one tell me more about it please i need help !

i have the same mobo with the same mosfet shorted but mine disarms the PSU, the led comes off when plugging in the laptop, not the same case huh?

If it's not turning on after replacing the mosfet it means the processor is dead/shorted which is causing MOSFET to short... In this case replace the motherbboard

I gained some experience as I work for an IT department and is an engineering company which works with CAD, I currently run the zbook g2 with an i7 4900, they were disposing of them, so I salvaged a couple, here are some stuff to keep in mind ·Techpowerup has a program called NVCleanstall which automates driver modding, ·The 4gen intel is the last CPU to be upgradeable ·Starting with the ZBook g4, the GPU is still MXM, but the BIOS whitelist is even more unholy, Windows will detect the GPU and install the drivers, however it will show code 43 in device manager (windows has stopped this device cause blah blah blah) and linux will instantly kernel panic ·The G2 has NVMe support, but only certain allowed SSD's will show up as bootable in the BIOS (you can overcome this by installing clover bootloader in your desired location, pretty much the same as you would boot a desktop with an old BIOS with a PCIE to m2 adapter) ·NVIDIA optimus doesnt work (GPU will be always active at the lowest frequency) but never at 0 ·A similar whitelist applies to WWAN modules ·CSM often glitches out when enabled and only linux can work in legacy mode (G2) ·G1 through g3 keyboards are compatible between each other EDIT: After suspend/hibernate the GPU will be drawing 22 watts and overheating even when idle, restarting makes it go to its idle state again (Quadro M3000M) I'm even reconsidering to pop back the stock k3100, the power saving in Nvidia optimus really makes a difference and when in battery is better to leave the computer on on my 30 min break than sleeping, I can make it to the end of classes when I sleep at least once, the battery will drain in a flash

Ok guys basically I’ve got like 6 of these two G1 and 4 g2 models one of G2 boards just won’t detect any gpu I even gave it k610m and FirePro 2gb card nothing at all idk what was I thinking but turned out that I disabled the Intel gpu now I’m fully locked out I thought disabling hybrid graphics would force enable pci-e slot by giving it a restart ! Any ideas how to re enable the Intel gpu ? Thanx a lot everyone

Go for BIOS reset, by CMOS battery pull and power drain... You must have a faulty GPU slot/motherboard fault

@@Naturefuzz yep looks like a faulty pci-e slot I’ve pulled the cmos battery out it’s doing same I’ve applied the tweezers on the pins of the bios chip 1 and 8 it blinks continuously white light and nothing happens tried win button and b tried same with r button nothing wtf I swapped another cpu from i7 4940mx to i7 4810mq nothing also tried i5 nothing took the gpu card out nothing tried another mxm cards I have few various models I have k5100m x2 m3000m m5000m p4000 p5000 p5200 amd FirePro card 2gb k610m nv tied em all which ever works nah fuck all works ‘ I’m screwed damn this security on their bios ! There must be a fail safe way! To add also tried the cpu witout gpu in slot nothing also (presumably to force it to work no)

I installed m2000m on zbook 15 g2 by modifying inf. However, it only works with the hybrid graphics option enabled. If the hybrid graphics option is disabled, the screen is not displayed. I don't want to use hybrid graphics (nvidia optimus). Is there a way to make the screen appear even if the hybrid option is turned off?

Sadly no, the BIOS has hardcoded which GPUs to fully support, and HP bioses are now encrypted so modding the BIOS is difficult, perhaps modding the GPU BIOS, but I think the risks outweigh the benefits, unless u have a CH341A programmer (which even owning one hasnt spared me a paperweight card, some bios chips are read protected) once u brick you card, its done for

I tried but the size doesn't fit in then I manage to fix it inside , computer boots up but restarted due to power failure/ issues. Probably the board can't handle high power requirements of the card.
