hi, great job you're doing on the calibra turbo i worked on one with a friend, if you need any advice don't hesitate to ask. a simple fix you can do is install the c20xe camshaft 3 degrees in advance. you'll get about 40hp more power without doing anything else.

hi there the best video on YT and very good info .. only thing im worrried about is putting the belt back on if i keep the belt to top dead centre and is counting the new belt a must?to keep the timimg.. are all the belts the same lengths / thank you and dose the crack pully go in the same place as i can see i little knotch there
@TingzOnWheelzАй бұрын
As long as you don’t move anything with the belt off you should be fine. I only count the teeth out of habbit as once I purchased a kit that had a belt for a tdi instead of a tfsi. If you get a kit for your vehicle it “should” have the correct belt

4:56 I would have used fine grit paper like 400, it would have come out even better rather than using the abrasive sponge, the latter does not bring the base to the same level... anyway excellent result! 👍

i've tested many different types of LED bulbs in a reflector housing. You do not want to be using the ones in this video because they have 2 strips of leds off centre so they do not send the light from the same position as a halogen bulb therefore giving massive glare and poor beam pattern. If you fit LEDs with a single strip of LEDS then you'll get a good pattern and little to no glare, well not any worse glare than all the un-aligned factory led headlights that are on the road along with all the useless drivers who don't know what a headlight dipper switch is for (i know most factory LEDs are auto adjustment but some aren't eg. Ford Fiesta). Different brands of leds work in different housings, so try a few and see which one gives the best beam pattern for your particular vehicle.
@TingzOnWheelz2 ай бұрын
@@kenzohkw The leds are central along length but towards the tip end.around the full circumference would be better to emulate the directional light from a halogen.In my opinion I would lean away from putting any in halogen reflector housings as the glare is intense. They do offer other styles of bulb which would most likely have a better spread but for me I’d rather not. I would like to try them out in projector housings however!

OMG, I had on of these Calibra Turbo LE's. I cannot remember which number of 51 I had, but was an R reg and bought it in 2001 and sold it 1 year later (Kn0bhe4d). Was great and knew it was special, but sold it for a Merc SL. What I would give to have back today....... Great rebuild!!!
