Mike Leach was a national treasure, and he was spot-on correct here. People, women mostly, take weddings far too seriously...spend way too much time agonizing over details that simply do not matter in the end. After it's all over, all anyone ever says is "That was a nice wedding and reception". 5 years later, they won't remember a damn thing about it, not even what the food was. All that worrying about decorations, invitations, etc, and nobody will remember it at all. It's just a party.

RIP Coach Mike Leach. Unapologetically authentic, blunt & brilliant. A true original. I feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with The Pirate. Glad we have this incredible moment to look back on.

I've only ever been lump in my throat sad at the deaths of 2 people I've never met. They are Chef Carl Ruiz and Coach Mike Leach. Coincidentally, they were masters at 2 of my most favorite things. This one hits hard.

RIP to this legendary pirate !! Have quite a few friends & family that are Texas Tech alumni & I was fortunate & blessed to have been able to witness the love & support he had in Lubbock. In the end, Texas Tech did him wrong but I will always respect how he continued trucking on coaching. Funniest, most eccentric dude to ever coach football hands down. RIP

I'm a retired minister and do lots of weddings on the beautiful Mendocino Coast. Two pieces of advise to the officiant. 1. Do anything the bride's mother wants. She's trying to vicariously fix the faux pas made at her wedding. 2. If the bride wants her wedding on the roof, start looking for the trap door.
