Today was the first day I decided to rent a car, first time ever, to start Uber and no less than 2 hrs in the check engine light came on.. drove to work and parked until I could begin Uber after but when I got on the road and closer to my area it wouldn’t accelerate normally and acting as if there wasn’t any oil so I pulled over in a gas station to avoid killing myself the car and others and it wouldn’t start back up..pre collision malfunction showing in display and eventually had it towed..not a good way to keep customers..I had the car less than 12 hrs smh..it sucks to know certain people have better access to certain things in life than you or me but would be so careless or neglectful smh

I realize that at AVIS they always insist on making the upgrade, to get more money from you, in my case they have not returned the initial deposit and a month later they charged my credit card without any satisfaction, invoice or explanation. And in several calls they do not give any type of information. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Please do not rent from Avis i just got charged 6700 for a car they said was not returned!!! i returned the car 2 days later should have been $120 I have tried repeatedly to get Avis to understand that I'm not responsible for a vehicle that they lost. I am being charged for a 49 day rental. I have not been given any information from Avis on where the car was found. how many miles were on it or how much damage was on it. I flew to Chicago O'Hare airport and met with the manager and was told they found the car Milwaukee, so obviously a Avis employee took the car and now I'm being charged $6700 My only recourse after over 20 calls to Avis is to sue them looking for an attorney now to help me out. I called them online, years ago to see what that job was all about. I watched the "interview" and listened to the spiel they gave us, and decided I couldn't do it. I told them over the phone that I had a family emergency (I did, for real), I couldn't finish the onboarding. I was literally screamed at, so I said (truthfully again), "Ma'am, my husband has just DIED; I cannot finish this, at all." More screaming at me! I raised my voice, and told them NEVER to contact me again, for any reason, and I hung up. It was an insane moment!

I'm 73 years old, rented car in Boston, Avis said I stole the van. I went home Miami. Few months later they said I stole van. I RETURNED VAN. I HAD a 11,000 dollar credit card there. One of their employees drove car after I turned it in. DO NOT RENT Avis cars/vans.

My wife and I had a reservation yesterday, October 28, 2023 (one-way rental) from Avis Budget at Midway Airport in Chicago. When we arrived to the car rental place, there was already a humongous line at the Avis counter. All other agencies were empty. My wife took a place in the line and I went to the other counters to see if I could get a car. All of them told me they were out of cars. While we were in the line, we started trying to see if any other rental agencies in the whole Chicago area had any cars. We were willing to take Uber to those offices to avoid being in a long line. Any open place was out of cars or were unwilling to do a one-way rental. It is worth noticing that there were only 2 women taking care of the long line. Later on, a guy came in and help a little. An hour or so of waiting and not moving that much, one of the ladies behind the counter announced that a manager was coming to talk to us…and nothing else was said. A woman sitting in a chair waiting for her husband to get the car was the one that broke the news to the few of us in an earshot: they don’t have cars and are waiting for people to return them so they can clean them and put them back in the lot. After an hour and a half or two, the manager finally came to say that they had just received a truck load of cars and that they would be available very soon…but no time frame was given. He used the usual line “I just got here” to avoid answering more pressing questions such as whether we would receive any kind of discounts for the wait. He basically came to say, in a few words…you have to wait…period. By now we had already called my wife’s sister who started driving from South Bend, IN after assisting to a funeral. She and her husband rescued us. We were in that line for 3 hours or more and never reach the counter…not that they had any cars to give once you got your paperwork done. This morning I tried to access the customer complaint section on Avis website. I was just looking for an area to type my complaint, but they make it too time consuming. I decided to call the 800 number. David took my verbal complaint, was very polite and offered me a coupon for a 3-day free rental that expires on Dec of 2024. I am very ok with that…3 hours for 3 days seems fair. I still don’t know what was going on around Chicago yesterday that made impossible to find a rental car…

Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

I went to jay road only a mile from my house with 3 other people on a double date. We went around Halloween during a full moon and parked the car on the bridge facing boltonville turned off the engine and put all the windows down. After a few minutes we started seeing orbs of light in top right of trees bouncing around. We were all watching it thought it was really cool until suddenly the girl next to me gasped and pointed in front of us. I looked in front and from the trees in the distance a pitch black thing no shape to it came from the right-side out of the woods and went to the center of the road. It stopped in the center of the road and disappeared down into the road. Then as soon as it was gone a bright white figure came out of the road from the exact same spot it looked like a woman in a dress that was all tattered and torn up with scraggly hair shoulder length. No eyes just dark holes and no feet with a blank stare looking right at us. The thing started moving towards us and everyone started screaming to go we started the car and I turned the headlights on and this thing was brighter then the headlights and kept coming at us fast. It went right into the front of the car never taking its face off of us and disappeared in front of us all as soon as it touched the car. We were all sober and I didn't believe in ghosts until that night. Was 4 of us and we all saw it I've got no explanation. This video creeps me out because where he saw that mystery fog headed to the bridge looks almost exactly where we saw that thing appear in the center of the road. If you're on the bridge facing boltonville when you see the road in front of you there is a low spot that dips down a bit. Thats where the thing appeared from. I won't go down that road at night anymore and during the day I go through fast. There's definitely something going on there. Never saw any blood signs or anything else but its haunted imo

Wished I saw this much sooner! We rented with Budget at San Diego International Airport during winter break, and I gave the employees grace that they were short-staffed, and it was the holidays. It was not until we went to our spot for example L24, that the car in the spot was completely different from what it says on the reservation! And by that time, we couldn't find the make, color, and license plate of the vehicle since it was already gone by the time we arrived, so we did what was best which is to take the car that was on our spot. When we went to check out of the gate, the gate agent said that we had to reverse back to a parking space so we can go register this car to our current reservation and that they couldn't re-register for us. Like why can't the gate/lot agents re-register the car to your current agreement by scanning your current reservation to the new car?? That's what the Minneapolis airport team did when they saw my car was gone and wanted to get me out of the lot. Nope, the San Diego team told me to go to the "red box" (Avis preferred desk) and re-update your reservation there. The employee I dealt with didn't let me talk, and questioned why I was there with a budget reservation? He seemed pretty agitated I was there in the first place, and I didn't appreciate the piss-poor service because all I wanted was for the employee to re-register the vehicle to my current reservation and have me leave the airport for the night. I get that everyone has bad days and jobs are tiring/stressful, but in order to serve your customers, you need to let them speak and logically do what's right. Eventually, the avis preferred employee did re-register the car, and everything seems all good to go, right? WRONG. After I came back home from my trip, I received another receipt for the car that I did not receive on top of the car that I did receive (double charge!!). I was confused as to why the gate agent didn't ask to check the persons driver's license or anything to the driver that took my car, so I wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place. On that receipt, it showed that the car was returned 5 days after my trip, and by that time already, I'm already back home and not in San Diego. I had to take time off of work to dispute this with my bank and with budget saying how this isn't right, and that I needed my money back. My bank 100% agrees that this is on Budget, and not on me, and I had to send in many forms of proof such as bank statements, boarding passes. anything to show that I wasn't in California. After complaining, Budget did issue a refund to my credit card, BUT it's for the car that I did use, NOT for the car that I didn't use. How tf does that make any sense!?! I'm still working with my bank, and they're fighting with Budget until they give me back the remaining difference, because that's a huge chunk of money for something I didn't see or touched. I know better for next time: 1. Don't book with budget avis group 2. If your car is not there, demand proof of cancelation receipt and proof that the car was successfully re-registered, with the old car title gone. Update - After my bank talked with budget about the dispute, I was able to get the difference refunded, and should be getting my money back. Please do your self a favor to always double check the statements, and to always ask a cancelation receipt with updated title if your car isn’t there.
