Gorgeous, exciting watch. The interplay of the eight bubble markers vs the sharp hands and the Mazda 8 Wankel rotors : works! Angular lugs work, too. Polished case brings out the angularity imparting flash and motion.

If you couldn’t reuse the clasp your dad touched every day, at least you’re trying to approximate it. How much more does the genuine Breitling strap cost? How does one even add the clasp to the strap.

I bought several from AliExpress, and they have been excellent. I've never tried ETSY, but I will take a look at what they have for sure. Lastly, I have a late 80s Casio G-Shock 5600 from my Dad which he wore as his beater, it is in perfect working condition, I don't really wear it, more of a sentimental piece, but would not trade it for anything. That looks SOO good! Love that dial layout. GMT stretches all the way to the edge and seconds hand looks awesome as it crests over. Cool date window. I’m with you, bi-directional bezel would be better, and I prefer a 48 click for easy adjustments and accounting for those areas that are 1/2 hour off.

My sla021’s bezel and chapter ring are misaligned worse than this, as are most of them I find pictures of on instagram. Such a shame to ignore these details on such an otherwise beautifully made watch. Still one of my favorites. Is it worth sending it to Seiko or another watchmaker to try and fix it; I don’t know if it’s worth the risk. If anyone else has tried this please weigh in.
