Probably because as he's gotten more and more famous, the error has just spread through the press and word of mouth and he's tired of correcting it. He's long indicated that he doesn't really care either way

I completely understand why he loves Karl so much now. His mum reminds me of him. But even more of that one caller they took that was embarassed to be on the air. I know Ricky grew up 'poor' but I still didn't expect his mum to sound like this.

I know it's all a bit but I get really really annoyed when Ricky's version of humour especially if Carl says something smart is to call him all these names and he's stupid. I honestly believe that kind of humour becoming normalised is why people behave to each other the way they do today.
