Hello. I have just bought this jump starter. Thank you for this video, very well explained with a good presentation. Good to know as well it doesnt work on a fully dead battery. I read on the instruction manual that this model can only be used on a lead battery. This is not indicated on the packaging. Unfortunately I don't have a lead battery. Do you think it will still work? Or is it better to take it back to the store?

Thank you for the great video but may I politely suggest that if you're going to be filming a video for KZbin - blow your nose first if it's runny! That glistening snot sitting at the edge of your nostril was kinda gross, and then you even tried to sniff it up! 🤢🤮🤧

You need to push the brake pedal down before the car will even start normally. For most of the video where I could see your failed attempts you were not on the brake pedal (4:33m), you need to push the brake pedal down to start all vehicles! Or pushing in the clutch like I must do on my car with a standard transmission. It’s a safety feature!

Read the instructions Bra. A completely dead battery requires pressing and holding the over-ride button.

You’re wrong. It’ll work on a completely dead battery. You need to hold down manual override for 3 seconds. With a battery at 2 volts or less the Eliminator thinks it’s not hooked up to anything. Read your instructions

Omg seriously? I didn't know what the override button was for and I've found that it'll start my car if it's still got a bit of juice in it but not if it's stone dead. What does there override button do that would make it work?

Same for me, It was showing 100% charged when I connected it up for the very first time it did nothing, then I saw it was at 20%, must be a failed module from new. And it would not charge. Possible depleted batteries inside.

I don't like these lithium-ion boosters because they have a fuse in them to prevent over heating, which means if you try to start your car too many times the booster may over heat and even start to smoke, blowing the fuse, which you would have to take the booster apart to replace the fuse, and from what i've seen the fuse is in a terrible place, very hard to replace. Plus you have to look for a new fuse to buy. Many people would just buy a new booster.
@jbaris
@jbaris Жыл бұрын
The manual says not to try more than 5 times within 15 minutes. The fuse is there to protect the unit from ppl who don't read the manual and do what you said by trying to start too many times.

I recently moved to 35s. But after a lot of trial and error I set the size to 33.25 using the ECRI. That seemed to get my speed to match various speed limit signs and GPS based speedometers. It improved my ride as the shift points corrected. I even more recently re-geared too. Improved my mileage a lot. I lost a lot moving to 35s. But now I am a little better than stock. But the shop set my tires to 34.1, which was again wrong. I moved it back to 33.25 and speeds seemed to correlate with outside sources again. Apparently 35" tires are 33" when on the jeep :) Probably not a surprise as the weight of the jeep likely compresses things a bit. Anyway, the point of all that, was I could never get the ECRI to give me a good tire size. When it was set at 34.1 it recommended 33.9, at 33.9 it recommended 33.3. At 33.25 it recommended 32.75 etc. Even when I initially moved from 33" factory tires to 35" tires it was very random. Interestingly, the 33" tires were set to 31" tires initially. That made me feel better about losing 2" :)

Doesn’t work for a totally dead car battery as there is no ‘boost’ function to take its place. It works only when the car battery still have some juice in it. Hopeless item

For the most part, and in modern vehicles, you rarely get totally drained battery anymore because there are built in mechanisms that prevents accidentally totally draining the battery, like accidentally leaving the headlights or indoor lights on. Like mine, it just needs a few more power so it can start, and this product come in handy.
