Can you fly international? Lets say I fly from Florida to a Caribbean island for a weekend, would that be allowed?
@flightnerdairforce
@flightnerdairforce 11 ай бұрын
That will depend on the rules of the company from which you rent the aircraft. I'm sure they will want to know the pilot is qualified to make that kind of trip. And you'll need to go the appropriate processes for customs and immigration in the US and the island to which you fly. It will also depend on whether the aircraft you rent has the range necessary to make it to the island you're headed to. Many people also discourage flying farther from shore than your aircraft could glide if you had an engine out situation. So if you have access to a multi engine airplane and the proper ratings, it will make the flight safer. All that to say...it is possible with the right considerations. Sounds like a really fun way to use your pilot license!!!

@@flightnerdairforce I am in the process of getting my licence i actually fly 2 hours from when i typed this message next lesson. I also wanted to know if i could hire a plane take the wife away for the weekend and fly home, how much would that cost? As i work in a place that does car rentals we charge a daily or weekly rate we have a min allowed daily km's allowance over that you pay .25 cents a km so every 100km's over is 25 bucks. I had assumed that a company may charge you a small fee while the plane is away and charge you for flight hrs per the Hobbs metre. Otherwise what is the point of having my pilots licence wanting to take the wife away for a weekend makes it cost 1000x times more then just buying a local domestic plane ticket.

Just as an fyi, rotation speed for a 172 is 55 knots, not 35. It flys much smoother that way.

That's crazy, Growing up on the farm, we never even thought about planes costing all this to run. We just had a couple old planes and we flew them. No big. I've got my license now, and own 4 planes but I flew 30 years without any costs other than gas and parts

Excellent review for student pilot. Could be better if you explain some of the intricacies among the meters when airplane is different maneuvers, what to watch out for each of them and the most important of them . I find that is the most confusing and distracting for newbies: so many to watch for and lose focus of the attention. Also please explain the trim control response on the six pack. Keep up the good work.

In my 3rd year as a private pilot. I fly a glass cockpit. I have a steam gauge backup Altimeter which always baffles me. Your video is the first instruction I have ever received in reading it. You made it very simple. I will use this information now to make myself a better pilot. Thank you.
