Absolutely beautiful and so helpful. The details are there but at he same time simplistic. I have learned so much from this in layering, shading and lots of patience. Thank you Colin!🙏🏼

Is the blender a smaller paper blender set in a handle, a blender set in a paint brush, or something else? Could I use the bigger regular made from paper blender (sorry if you have no idea what I mean it was what my art teacher taught us was a standard blender.) I realize my comment comes a bit of time after this was posted, but thank you for the video. I bought the two of these together assuming I could use them together. They haven't come yet, and I had a tiny 'oh shit' moment, but this video reassured me that what I wanted to draw might still look good if I can draw well enough

Hello thanks for your comment! This is a silicone tipped blender so slightly different to a paper blender. It's softer and flexible so it's a bit like a paint brush. It can pick up a bit of the pigment and move it about. Paper blenders are good too, just these "colour shapers" as they're called here are so so good at manipulating the pastel pencil

This is so helpful as I am having issues using panpastel and mixing the base colors. I am not willing to spend hundreds of euros on all the panpastels. And pastelmat ruins the sponges. I want to go back to fabriano or maybe all medium drawing paper for easy blending. But now I know how to use my pencils instead of my limited panpastel colors. This solves so many of my issues!

Hi Colin and Steve, nice to see you! Fantastic lion picture Colin! There is an epic price of work! I did a similar detailed picture a few years back…. Took me months! But I was so pleased I’d made the effort when it was finished. Thanks for the tips on Ange’s photo.

Ditto with the colds Steve, I have had one this week too. I think at this age schools should make art a pleasure not an exam subject. Lovely picture very well done, so pleased she is enjoying it more now. Colin is so easy to listen to, he makes it a pleasure to learn.

Thanks for the video, it's very informative. I'd appreciate it very much if Mr. Bradley would make a video about the newly-released Canson Mi Teintes Velvet pastel paper. It's supposed to be just as good as Pastelmat, and also cheaper. Again, thanks in advance for your time and help.
