Wow…didn’t know MM wrote the OG truckers atlas, sun kil moon nailed the cover he did of it. Love rubber gloves, I’ve been going to shows there since January. Where MM is playing here is where we now pay for tickets at the door, and I heard the bathrooms are a lot cleaner than they were back then. Bar didn’t exist as I can see here so there was a lot more room to cram all those people. If anyone has any stories of the early days of rubber gloves I’d love to hear em.

Greatest show I have ever been to. The room was probably 110 degrees, it was probably 500% over the max occupancy. There was a window AC unit trying to cool everyone. Everyone in that room was in sync. The opening bands were Love as Laughter and I think Somersault
@sethbarkley5 жыл бұрын
same. so much energy in the room that night...i believe it was also raining outside or something...always expecting the power to go out in the middle of the set at RGRS.
@oliverjason5 жыл бұрын
@@sethbarkley yeah, it was raining. I remember hearing the show was originally going to be outside and they ended up overselling it, so when it rained, they had to stuff all those people inside a tiny ass room
@oliverjason5 жыл бұрын
@@sethbarkley i had never experienced another show where it was that packed and it was just a constant, comfortable sway back in forth. you were squeezed in with 5 other people around you. I have been violently crushed at shows but never since had I been in this weird serene sway, like a human ocean.
@houeyr5 жыл бұрын
I was there too. Such an amazing time to be alive. MM could have started a revolution at that time with their hardcore following all over the country. I remember when I used to AltaVista search for Modest Mouse and there was a single hit, and the site let you download a handful of mp3s (using NetZero 56k!) Love as Laughter crushed it as well.

I found you with your modest mouse show at rubber gloves (which was by far the greatest show Ive ever gone to). Then I saw this in your uploads. I think was at the show too. I showed up super early and Rob Crow was beating the shit out of the pinball machine.
