The engine's variable displacement is the culprit to blame for the gutless acceleration. Delete that nonsense and enjoy pure v8 power all the time. Much the same with the dodge hemis with the mds system. You just replace the solenoids that cancel certain cylinders with non functioning plugs and you will have constant v8 bootstrap bliss. Also, put a cherry bomb or Flowmaster on it with a cam job. And maybe if you want to go further, delete the cat and put a turbo on it. There's a guy on KZbin that shows what kind of instant power and torque with simply adding a turbo, and a cam alone on a 5.3

I have a 13 LT. I bought the module to disable AFM, which makes the truck drive and shift much better. Only hurt mpgs maybe by 1. My complaints are few, such as the plasticky interior creates a lot of rattles. I fixed most by putting in felt around the door panels. Gearing also makes you have to really push the gas to get it to downshift and move, and the steering wheel is from the GM parts bin and should be thicker and not cockeyed towards the driver on the right side. Otherwise, these are considered pretty bullet proof trucks.

I get 14.5mpg combined in my V6 Grand Cherokee which is much smaller in size and engine displacement. Considering your vehicle is much heavier and has a V8, that is really good fuel economy.
