Mister, I know that there is a type of mesh between the sole and the outer sole that is sewn in sneakers, I usually deteriorate it because of my footprint ¿is there any way to fix it?
@shanesshoerepairs3 күн бұрын
You could consider sneakers that have the insole glued on top of the mesh. Or you could glue in your existing insoles for added strength. Also check you are buying shoes wide enough.

Cheaper, better, get to keep the ones you know and trust. In this case the Beige pair were the ladies "new ones" but didn't wear them much. So we made the most of the best parts for her. Rather than buy a third pair that she still might not love.

@@ashraf9262 The "wasted" beige pair the customer had bought as her new pair. But didn't wear them much as the beige didn't suit her as well as she had hoped. So rather than send them to landfill along with her worm out pair. She asked her to make one pair from the 2. Understand that both pair were headed to the dump. But for half the price of a new pair we created one pair that suited her.

Would there be a reason to replace the entirety of a leather sole with rubber soles instead? (Like dainite) Or would it be better to just glue this piece on? I'm debating as I have a pair of leather soles but I don't even wear them as I don't want the leather soles to get wet and damaged
@shanesshoerepairs15 күн бұрын
Price, personal preference and availability of suitable repairer are part of the decision. Quick cheap and easy to put a 2mm rubber protection sole on top of the leather. Not much can go wrong. Replacing the leather sole with rubber is going to cost more and has more risk of altering the shoes look and feel.

Get your cobbler to do something like this, add what ever thickness you need under the top layer. Glue in and stitch at the top. Leave the top 20mm too high. Then trim it off once stitched.

How long does hill grip sticks?
@shanesshoerepairsАй бұрын
Depends on brand of heel grip, material the shoe is made of and the skill of the installer. A decent brand onto leather lining that has been sanded and then applied without repositioning and well press. Will last years. If it's onto fabric or shiny vinyl they may last a few weeks. If in doubt get them stitched in.

@shanesshoerepairsАй бұрын
oh you mean with the beig eand black lace? Did that to make it easier for people to follow which piece of lace goes where. Simply tucked the black lace in through the top left eyelet. Tied a stopper knot on the back sto keep it from pulling through.
