Dear Mr. Hayes, I visit La Salette shrine every Advent season for the lights and to go to confession. I usually go there the Friday or Saturday before Christmas Day. It's usually packed! There were a few visits when the life-sized creche actually put a lump in my throat. I smile whenever I see the statue of St. Joseph. He looks like he's trying to shush (with his right hand) the ecstatic, exhilarated shepherds...particularly the elderly shepherd on his knees. Christ is born! Glorify Him!

Hey thanks for posting. This brings back memories! I went to WJHS in 1975-1978. Just visited last week and went to Ye Olde English for clam cakes and chowda, then to New York Lunch for wieners... Best wishes.
