Where did you get the speedo and tach. I have a 2012 Fatboy lo and want to change mine.

I ordered it from the Harley catalog back in 2011. I don’t think they sell that version any longer though.

Great video great upgrades. Do you have a part number for that chin spoiler? I have an oil cooler on my 14 fatty and I read somewhere that I cannot put the chin spoiler on but want to know more
@WRUSH20102 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I do not have the part number anymore. I ordered it out of the catalog back in 2010 or 2011. I don’t recall my 2010 model having an oil cooler. The front end of the spoiler fit around the voltage regulator. I just searched the online catalog and it appears it is no longer available. I sold my Fatboy Lo in 2015 and bought a new Street Glide Special, but she was a great bike back in the day. There may be a chance to still find one if you Google-search for Fatboy spoiler for your model year. Good luck.

Is that chin spoiler a stock Harley part?
@WRUSH20102 жыл бұрын
It was when I bought it in 2011, but you’ll have to check the Harley website to see if it is still available for the Fat Boy. Back then it came in vivid black but you can easily paint it any color to match your bike.

That is a Harley windshield. It came with the quick-disconnect feature, which I preferred. I do not recall the height, sorry. I traded the Fat Boy in for a Street Glide Special a few years ago so I cannot check the height for you. Thanks for the comments. She was a great ride.

@bigboi181847 жыл бұрын
Also curious about the handlebars whether you had to make any changes to the cables/wires. I have a 2012 Fatboy Lo and just need around a 5-6" taller bar to be able to sit upright and be more comfortable.
@WRUSH20107 жыл бұрын
Yes, I changed out the cables at the same time because the new bars were longer. I added the diamond black stainless cables (I think that's what they were called). I traded in my Fatboy for a Street Glide Special in 2015, but I did love that Softail.
@bigboi181847 жыл бұрын
Dang I sure was hoping the stock cables/wires would work.....may still try it with stock cables just to see what length I need added to order. Have read of others running 10" apes with stock cables/wires and just re-routing. ---- From looking on JP Cycles website....the 2012 Fatboy Lo uses a 31" throttle cable and a 62" clutch cable -- Looked up 06 to 13' Fatboy's and they also use the same length cables. So If i can get a set of the bars I should be fine with the install. The 10-11' Fatboy Lo's ran a 28" throttle cable
@starkruzen7 жыл бұрын
Love the handle bars. Would you have a part number? Did you have to change the cables? Great video! Thanks
@WRUSH20107 жыл бұрын
I don't recall the part number but they were the same ones on a 2011 Fatboy (not a Lo, but standard Fatboy). I liked them because I no longer had to lean forward and the grip angle was a more natural fit for a comfortable hand position.
@riteshpatil34207 жыл бұрын
do those pipes scrape on deeper lean angles like the canyons ?
@WRUSH20102 жыл бұрын
Nope. I’ve scraped the floorboards a few times but the pipes are high enough and close enough to the bike that they still retain lots of clearance.

What did you use to fill in the threads for the rear foot pegs and where did you get them.
@WRUSH20108 жыл бұрын
I got those at a Harley dealership after I removed the passenger pegs. They did not screw in but rather popped in place and were held there with a few dabs of silicone. I traded in that Fat Boy for a Street Glide last year so can't examine them for more detail. I recommend you talk to a Harley dealership to see what they might be able to recommend. I do recall that they make chrome-covered tabs, which can be held in place via silicone. Hope this helps.

Love the bike. Where did you get the bag on top of your fender bib. I want one, but can't find it anywhere
@WRUSH20102 жыл бұрын
I bought it from a Harley shop. it is actually a handlebar bag, but I simple drilled holes in the bottom and then attached it using the two bolts that hold the back of the seat. the bolts secure the bag and they are hidden inside the bag - win/win

Nice bike!!! I really love those handlebars !!!!! I want to get them for my 2012 fatboy. But you said they were stock fatboy handlebars. My handlebars don't look like that. What year stock? and would you have the part number? They look like fatboy handlebars from the early nineties. I think they were the best looking handlebars on a fatboy. Also, did you need to get longer cables? I seriously want to do the same to my bike and want to know what's involved. I have the tribal grips too!

Chuck, it was right out of the Harley catalog and I ordered it through my dealer. Google harley-davidson softail-front-spoiler. You can get them in chrome, black or primed and ready for your specific color. I tried to post a direct link but KZbin would not accept it.

Carolina BadBoy, the artist is Ride Your Bike and the song is Sense of Things (Whiskey) Instrumental from the album Bad News From The Bar. When I made the video this was one of the songs KZbin recommended based upon the duration of the video. I hope this helps.

RK: I put regular Fat Boy handlebars on mine because the stock Lo bars were not comfortable for me. Like you said I had to reach too far forward. Now the riding position is perfect for me. Just sit on a regular Fat Boy and you can check out the reach. I'd recommend buying a new 2012 or 2013 bike over a 2010 used one because you get the new brakes and 103 engine. I did not know that Harley dropped the frame even lower in 2011.
@RoyalKennedy60112 жыл бұрын
Other wise I think your better off buying new . I was looking at a 2010 that has drag bars on it . I am thinking that it may get uncomfortable after a while because your leaning forward all the time on it . Whats your thoughts on that . You made some great upgrades to yours I was reading that in 2011 Harley dropped the frame another 1.25 '' as well making it even low
@RoyalKennedy60112 жыл бұрын
Im always afraid to buy used unless it a yr or two old and I know why for sure why they are selling it and It has very low miles on it and its a few g 's below msrp . cont.

RK: I bought it new in July of 2010. I did most of the customizing in the Spring of 2011 though. Harley added anti-lock brakes in 2011 and then made the 103 standard in 2012. I upgraded mine to 103 in 2011 with an upgrade kit and new breather and cams.
@RoyalKennedy60112 жыл бұрын
What an awesome bike !!!! Im planning on getting one real soon Did you buy this bike new or used .
@WRUSH201012 жыл бұрын
Hi. They are "Big Radius Exhaust" made by Vance and Hines. You can Google Vance and Hines for more info. These are louder than normal exhausts so you might want to hear a set first before you buy them.
@WRUSH201012 жыл бұрын
Ken, there is a second video with sound. Above the screen there is a box that says two videos. Open the second video and you can hear it. The mic on the camera really couldn't capture the deepness of the V&H Big Radius but you'll get the idea. I spoke way too much on that first video and didn't like it so that is the reason I made the second one with music only. Cheers!

@P99007 Hmmmm. Not sure what you really mean. Don't think you ever really need to take a bike to the dealership but I do. They did install both the Big Radius and Stage I kit for me because I do not have the required skills or tools to do so myself. Plus, I had mine dyno-tuned after about 1500 miles to tweak the mix. Once I upgraded to a 103 I wanted to ensure I could pull the most power out of the engine. She definitely scoots now!
@WRUSH201012 жыл бұрын
@gwl1983 I do have another video without music where you can hear the engine. You should be able to find it by clicking the other videos box. I think it says 2 videos. The mic on the camera can't replicate the deep sound but you'll get an idea of the tone.
@WRUSH201012 жыл бұрын
@MsJAB1963 Nope. Thanks. No problems finding neutral when hot and have not made any specific clutch or handle adjustments, but did replace the original clutch, throttle and brake cables with Black Diamond. Sorry, but have no idea about the clutch setting; I assume it remains as set by the factory.

@igytube I found that music through the KZbin site when I was producing the video. As I recall, it gave me a list of recommended scores which matched the time length of the video. I listened to about 10 songs and selected the one you hear. It was pretty simple. I was going to use my own music initially but KZbin rules said it had to be Copyright-approved first, so I just went with their score. It actually turned out pretty well I think. Hope this answers your question. Enjoy your bike!

About a month ago, I bought a Fatboy Lo in black denim. The only mods I have done are: tool bag on top of headlight, V&H pipes like yours, smoked lens covers, license plate lay down mount with black frame and Max & Willie throwover saddlebags that I converted to mounted bags. I get so many comments on the bike. I might consider the breather you went with. I really don't want to do much more. It is perfect!!!
@WRUSH201013 жыл бұрын
@markmossop Mark, I have since moved to the Middle East and my new license plate here is not so small anymore. Of course having that extra metal on the back helps serve, somewhat, as armor for the many wonderful drivers in my new realm. Luckily the Vance and Hines Big Radius keep everyone informed I am near by. The good news here though is that the riding season never ends. I look forward to seeing some video of your bike when you get it the way you want it.

@sheethal907 Thanks much! I had dirt bikes and sport bikes before but this is my first Harley and I really enjoyed tuning it up the way I wanted to. There is nothing quite like opening up that 103 on the highway on a warm summer day.
