Good video thanks. I have a 2010 reg. cab all manual door stuff. My manual door locks are not like your ‘03 mine are located on top of the door panel and pull up open push down lock. Will this lock mechanism work for me?

So I guess the big question is, did you notice any difference when driving it? I just bought a 1988 with a 305 TBI and it has a lot of miles on it. Everything probably needs rebuild. I will consider doing this mod. Thanks for sharing!

If you can't get it back together because you took the latch rod out, here are a few tips. To make it easier to understand, a quick review of what I call the parts is in order. The outside door handle, or latch handle, is connected to a bar on the back side of the unit. I call this the latch bar. The latch bar is connected to a latch rod, and secured with a metal clasp. Here's my tips: #1 The other end of the latch bar sits in the top of the latch, the ratchet you see on the door jam that secures the door to the jamb. This latch rod is not secured, so if you pull it out it is easy to forget how to reassemble it. The lock is also attached to the top of the latch. Get a flashlight and look down at the latch. You will see the rod connected to the lock cylinder and a hole to the left for the latch rod. Insert the long straight end of the latch rod into this hole, and now the critical part, the hooked end must enter the latch arm so the the hook faces towards the jam, not the front of the car. If you insert it backwards, with that hook towards the dash, your reassembly will be a nightmare and when you do get it back together it will not work. #2 Also, the metal clasps only work in one direction, so if your rod will not snap into the end of the latch arm, remove the clasp and turn it around and it will work out great. #3 The white plastic clips that hold the interior door trim onto the door are brittle. You are likely to break a few, or like me, find some previous Mr. Fix It broke some, so buy extras before taking on this job. #4 No arguments, it's tricky reassembling the door handle. The support for the window is in the way, so above and beyond everything else, the latch bar has to be to the right of that vertical support and then you push it up and as out of the way as you can before you turn to the problem of the lock. The lock rotates, but it has a projection on the bottom so it will only fit in the cylinder channel in one position. I rotated it with my right hand to where I wanted it, then I eased the right side of the whole mechanism towards the car and brought the left side out. This created just enough room for me to tease the lock in with both my pinky fingers. Try it a few times and then get the smallest person in the family to do it, because it takes patience if you have big hands.

I live in Sun City Arizona. And this thing is useless for the garage,. It's only good for already cooled down areas. What's the point in buying something to cool if it only works when it's in an already cool place? Just blows hot air on ya'. My $25.00 fan did the same thing. This is nothing more than a $200.00 fan. And no where to insert ice blocks if you wanted. Completely useless. Waste of money. Don't buy.

where can I get them

Ended up with one of these after I found out the sport spec lip for my volvo was $500 unpainted. Did not trust the hardware it came with so I spent an extra $10 on some bolts and heavy mounting tape. Does not budge. It is very obviously a $50-$80 lip. I wouldnt trust it in an area with a lot of debris and rocks on the road. Too much give and it being a 3 piece assembly leaves some pretty bad failure points where the pieces connect. If you use the small screws it came with, expect it to get ripped out under your tires at some point.
