Going back on this channel in first days of 2025 feel like going back in childhood, i love this channel and games of Fumito Ueda its so cool how such old game have unique and interesting atmosphere you can't forget it and not love it, nomad colossus thanks for all hard work you done, lets wait what future give us to love as this game.

Yes, using this method I can load as many or as few as I like. So you could play the game by defeating any number of colossi you want (up to 16 of course).

A leftover "Demo" mode, perhaps? This seems like the sort of thing you'd set up to show the game off at a trade show like TGS or E3, though probably with a different ending "cutscene" that just says "Thanks for Playing".

Seems feasible considering which colossus is still alive. Pretty sure the Third Colossus got the most promo coverage even before release.

Very awesome as always ! A single byte can store 2^8 different options, that's 256 options, I'm guessing the game keeps track of which colossi are defeated in just this 1 byte (Talk about saving space), So I'm guessing it'd be something like 00000000 is none of the colossi being dead, 00000001 is just valus dead, 00000010 is just quadratus dead, 00000011 is the 1st two dead.

Close - all zeros and there are no colossis to fight, 255 bytes = all colossi are loaded (as usual). But there are different byte values for each boss, so depending on how many of them you want in the game you just add up the values.

Manually edited a byte, arbitrarily changed what colossus are alive. Allows for having fun with a randomizer, or setting up specific conditions for speedrun practice. Didn't bring up a way to manipulate those bytes in-game, though

It's the music in the reveal trailer. The visuals are brilliantly mysterious, but play the video with your eyes closed and feel that unmistakable music swell and bring out that familiar feeling (of wonder and adventure). Honestly makes my eyes start getting those tears ready

I saw a video of a Yamori A mod (that you saw too) and it really opened my mind to this games potential for modding. Even if Ueda didn't want it, I WANT THEM AS FIELD ENEMIES! SOMEONE DO IT! Imagine fighting these guys on the way to a colossus, or encountering soldiers in the vast desert, and as far as lore goes, we could say Emon sends soldiers to stop Dormin's awakening. Not to undermine the genius of Ueda, but imagine. Maybe I won't have to imagine much longer.
