Ce concerto est une pure merveille. Tellement touchant et émouvant. Vivaldi est un compositeur de génie, un des plus grands!

Incredible piece of the fauré's requiem. Discover this part in my car when going to work. That sound like Fauré's style with simple chords but incredibly deep and stunning. Look at the introit of the requiem or the Pavane. Ending are frequently awesome too.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: grant them rest, rest eternal. May light eternal shine upon them, O Lord, with Thy saints forever, for Thou art kind. Rest eternal give to them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.

An ex boyfriend of mine in 2005 would dance to this. We were both musicians, i was a flute player and he was a sax player in college. After all this time I love this piece. Brings back some good memories of innocence.

Dubious. Not Vivaldi. Sounds like music from the Dresden Court. Zelenka, Pisendel, Heinichen, etc.

Mahler, for this movement, used a transposition from a traditional song from Abruzzo, Italy. Il Lamento di una Vedova. That's the most dramatic song ever heard on earth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmeXe3l_pLqNes0
I like to think that this music represents the arab/islamic world before crusaders/mongols arrived

^ I sort of get what you mean, but I think it’s all more reflective of Islamic lore and legend(s) than the real life day to day culture itself at the time you reference.

In my mind, this concerto was the desciption of his whole life, the highs, the lows, romance, pain, joy and fear. This is what I pick up. It is utterly beautiful fillied with complexities, longing and the zest that he had for life.
