This song is amazing. I can’t seem to find the lyrics on line. You are an amazing writer and singer. I wish I had heard your music sooner. I am an absolute fan.

What a great song. Makes me feel nostalgic for my grandparents place near Gunnedah, they never had a TV and I remember the Kero fridge was used until the mid eighties. The living room only had three walls and opened onto a big and deep veranda.. Always seemed to be in drought. I miss that old house so much.

This would have to be one of James’s best writing here and even Slim Dusty recorded it on his last album!

What a brilliant powerful song, such a powerful tribute to the light horse brigade at the storming of Beersheba. Thankyou James 👍🇦🇺👍

I wish I could put all your chill songs like this into one album. I'd call it red wine lullabies and listen to it every night.

James, do you remember singing this at the Dayboro Showgrounds in the 90s sometime when we'd been in drought for years and it started to rain, then pour, then flooded the weekend concert out... it was wonderful. We never got to say thank you .. but thank you :) I've just sent the link to a friend who's in the midst of bush fires in America, hoping it has the same effect.

One of my favourite songs of yours. Had the pleasure of seeing you in concert at in Muswellbrook NSW. You had the flu and a croaky voice but did your concert anyway and I guarantee nobody left there disappointed. Amazing dedication and an awesome night. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Love your music and love that you have uploaded these videos as well, i was wondering if you would have one for the song "I don't fight anymore" or perhaps even just the lyrics for that song. Love your work.
