Come on people, the so-called "box dyes" are exactly the same stuff you get in a salon, just packaged differently ;D Don't know why they've got such a bad rap, well I do actually - salon folks dissing them to get pepole to pay more money to them... Anyway, it seems to be an entirely US thing, they re not called "box dyes" here in Europe, at least not where I live, just ordinary dyes :)

Was stationed there in the Army. After two months I had rock fever. Had to get out as soon as possible. She is absolutely correct in the beauty of Hawaii but the tourists ruin it. The cost of living was beyond belief.

This was beautiful! Thank you for sharing! I lived in Hawaii for 3 years and I feel like i'd left a little piece of my soul there. my friend made me a beautiful Haku lay and I will never forget it. I kept it till it fell apart. now I'm trying to make a Haku lay style wreath for my wall. To remind me of all my beautiful memories there.

Haku is braid.. wili is wrap… ku’i is string. Po’o is head so lei po’o wili style is wrapping style head crown

Thank you for this video! I made my first real lei po'o haku/wili thanks to your very helpful and detailed tutorial. Before, I was just making a small carnation lei for the head (lol). And even though haku may not be the correct terminology, I'm glad you kept it in the title because it is a more familiar search term than wili or even po'o. Mahalo nui loa!

Dont fold the foils thats what causes those brown patches and lines. U want thin section like brad mondo says "paper thin" and leaving the foil sheets not folded hamburger (only hotdog, aka vertical strips)
