Been a fan since early Tubeway Army days; I want to many displays in 89,90,91 - the displays were freaking awesome.

I am not a fan of his music because I am a Northern Soul follower but I was a good friend of Gary from those days from him learning to fly helicopters. I can vouch for his exceptional flying skills directly. His dedication and well above average abilities would put some professionals I have come across in my career to shame.

I was lucky enough to fly in this B-25 in Titusville Florida in 1991 on the 50th anniversary of Pearl Harbour when it was known as Chapter 11. What a solid machine it was and the seemingly low power take off was impressive was capable of so much more.

I saw Gary play one of the best gigs i've ever seen earlier this year (2024) so i did laugh about the 50 year old still singing comment. Here's to many more excellent years Gary!

Amazing footage - please someone get it digitally restored! I would love to know some of those locations, presumably Shoreham (and Eastleigh?). Where is the large grass airfield with the substanial hangars on the far side? They look like bomber command hangars? And the big blister hangar? And the Wot taking off from the apron! And the Siai-Marchetti Riviera taxying backwards? Reverse pitch prop!! I gess it would be handy for water taxying, I'd love to see one of those fly nowadays - they still look modern. And G-ACZP, what became of the airframe after it mishap in Madrid in 58? How great wold that be to restore?! Happy daze!

My father did some aerobatic flying in a Gladiator no 2304. He was a flying instructor at the time & flew many different aircraft. This would have been in march april 1943. I'm pretty sure he was based at RAF Upavon at the time. Hope this is of some inerest. Best wishes .

The flamboyant aircraft are assembly ships. Painted high vis so planes could see it to get into formation. Much like a pace car. The enemy plane formation could be increased for realism to a staggering amount.

It's sad he left piloting because there had been so many deaths among his piloting friends and mentors, and because of urging from Gemma (her fear of losing him), but ultimately it's probably for the best. It took far too long, but a return to Wembley Arena this year proves he's still got the musical chops, even at 64. I finally saw him live this year, in Austin, TX. My first Gary Numan show. He'd dropped off the radar here, for me all the way in Texas, when I was a little kid in the early 80's, so I didn't know he still toured, let alone with new albums. I'm so glad I "rediscovered" him and his incredibly long back catalogue, most of which I hadn't the foggiest idea existed... and am still trying to acquire -- some of the albums are hard to find, like the ones originally released on Numa Records. Here's to Gary's return to charts, big stages... and finally getting into my playlists. 😂 I even recently read both autobiographies and joined his Patreon. Now I wait for the follow-up to Intruder and the subsequent tour.

I met Gary Numan at RAF Swanton Morley air show in about 1993. On practice day. He came over and spoke to us on the arena. (I was in the motorbike display team). The man is an absolute gentleman. We didn't realise who he was at first. My wife was changing our little toddler. She handed him a nappy full of poo to get rid of. He took it without question and put it in the nearest bin. She was mortified when she found out it was her teen idol she handed a fully loaded nappy to.

So glad to have happened on this channel. It takes me right back to my childhood in the 50's at Maylands Aerodrome in Perth, W.Australia, flying with my ex-RAAF uncle in the Royal Aero Club's Tigers, Chipmunks and Austers. I still have his log books and have been pleased to see that one or two of the aircraft in which we flew are still on the Australian register. Thanks very much Martin.

I owned G-APNT from 1988 -1999 . How extraordinary to see moving colour images of Airymouse ,(as she was later named by Harald Penrose ) rather than grainy black and white photos. The aircraft is currently owned by Steve Slater CEO of the LAA, I wonder if he has seen this?
