Very Cool, Thankyou. Interesting Slide, will try and track one down ..... Cannot Slide .... only a little in open D tuning (just basic slide, lol). Awesome old Samick, Nice One. Co-incidentally I just 'created' a guitar 'workbench' (old kitchen table lol) and First Guitar on bench was yesterday, an old Samick 'Strat' I picked up cheap in Bad Shape years ago.. I know nothing about guitar maintenance really so was super interesting taking this apart, cleaning it all up, setting string/pick-up heights, fix pots/electrics, intonate etc. AND highly successful too, WOW. What an AMAZING Guitar it is 1992 Korean Made 'Blacky' strat and is (now) maybe my favorite strat (type) guitar..... I have a few, lol. Had SO much fun and success, starting to put more of my older guitars on the 'bench', with similar pleasing results. AWESOME slide playing and singing as always, Guitar and Amp (and vocal) sounded excellent. I know the 'obsticals' to uploading videos to KZbin are Real.... I have similar difficulties (and am nowhere near as good a player/singer) and am now about 2 years from my last upload.... I still hope to upload more videos soon, maybe show my 'Noob/beginner' Guitar Bench lol. All the Best. Cheers

Hey glad to hear back from you GRB! It's been a while. I also have a homemade work bench here. Working on your own guitars saves you alot of money! As well as, you get to learn the ins and outs of what a quality guitar and or setup should be. Glad you got that old puppy back in working order! Would be a shame to let her sit in dust. I find a good rule of thumb for keeping / selling guitars is. If you don't use it within a months time. Let it go to someone that will use it more often! Thanks on your compliments about my slide playing! I'm still a student learning about slide playing. Maybe the reason you've had a harder time with slide is you really need to find a guitar with mid - high action! Once again thanks for the love and support for the past what. 2 years. You're the man GRB and I hope to see more content from you soon. I've checked back a few times and haven't seen a recent upload! Cheers. ❤️🤘

However, I have noticed that many of your videos seem to have limited views and engagement. Eddie did divebombing only. Never stretch ups. And the 3way toggle should be turned 180 degrees. So bridge is up and neck is down

@@bluesguy that section was always played with the frankenstrat. That one I believe he shimmed the neck to make the trem posts to go higher. So, no lowered carve into the body for the pull up. Like with the Steve Vai ibanez jem. Not on his EVH special or standards however.

i really like my klon clone called "pegasus" by caline it makes every pedal after sound so nice. got a simple compressor sustainer from behringer last year, holy crap does that send your playing into the stratosphere, it feels like cheating with how easy it makes playing technical stuff, its like goin super saiyan your diddlin out dragon force/ metalocalpse type stuff like its nothin. Got a joyo britsh to give me some marshally tones. tube pilot right in front of the amp so i get a double tube chain. throw in a tube screamer in the mix. i can go from extra clean, blues, black sabbath fuzz, pink floyd, 80's metal, guns and roses, modern technical tapping arpeggio metal.

Hey there. I ended up selling it to a friend and settling on a smaller es335 Epiphone. With a smaller body. The ijz is just huge! But if you can deal with that it's amazing guitar. I must say pay great attention to quality control. It's a hit and miss with these models! I had to do extensive work to get mine right, it shipped with a low seated fret! Was a total pain in the behind... Also my friend brought it to me for a setup about 5 months later and the neck was really back bowed. So not sure how strong these necks are. Just my experience.

Nice. Ya I don't mind the blues driver also. But me personally I need a sweet overdrive pedal to get me to where I want to be pedals wise. If you ever get a chance I'd strongly suggest trying out a Zach Wylde overdrive pedal. Or if clean tone is what you're after definitely a tube screamer to push your amp a bit more! Just some ideas.

Well worth the minor upgrades.

Very Cool, Thankyou. Awesome Video. Nice Guitar, sounds great. I almost bought one of these used for $700- Australian. I was buying a Gretsch Electromatic G5215 for $250- (Black single cut, single pickup rock machine, lol) off 'Marketplace' and the guy offered me his Epiphone Dot. I was tempted but passed and later bought an Artist Guitars 'Cherry 58' (335 copy). WOW such an awesome guitar and at only $250- New was an absolute bargain. So fun to play but sadly I do not play it enough. I usual play my guitars sitting at my computer desk, and room is limited lol. REQUEST: Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) "The Bluest Blues" playing this guitar, as Alvin Lee played a 335 (same one for whole career I believe), Great Song, Interesting Guitar Parts. And George Harrison plays an AMAZING Slide Solo, plus Alvin Lee's AMAZING Solo playing too. AWESOME. All the Best. Cheers

Just want a 'Natural' finish and only one's I've seen available at reasonable price here are kits for $250- to $275- that are very interesting to me. (No Solder wiring too which is a plus lol). Comes with a white pickguard and a Black Pickguard in Natural wood (Probably just finish it with some lacquer (Estapol). I have never used 'Active Pickups' and have always sort of avoided them. These sounded killer. All The Best. Cheers

Nice! Ya that's a great price for a kit. I never thought I'd own some of the guitars I own GRB.. I'm able to work on guitars and sell them for a profit. And work my way up to more expensive ones! If you check your local marketplace for some cheap guitars or good deals you yourself may be able to clean them up and make a buck and work up to your dream guitar! I got my first Gibson last year doing this method. And now I have X2 Gibsons and X2 fenders I never thought I could afford! Just a tip if you want to make those dreams come true GRB 😉

Both these are outstanding 'Budget' instruments that have amazing build quality and playability. Also have an extreme budget Donner 'Les Paul' in Sunburst.
