Dad loved Studebaker, we had three growing up. I learned to drive on a '53 Commander V/8, three on the tree. Dad let me put 3in lowering blocks and spun aluminum lake hub caps and dual glass packs on her. That Loewy Coupe design was way ahead of its time. Our last was a '56 Golden Hawk. Engine Turned aluminum dash with Stewart Warner gauges, matching speedo & tach. A Muscle Car before the Muscle Cars. I was king of the Pack in '58. Ahh the memories. Keep 'em alive. 🇺🇸

We had two Studebaker cars in our junkyard behind our ranch cattle barn. Dad parked them both before I started kindergarten. He sold them in 1991 for a pretty penny. Not even running.

I'd like to add a comment regarding buffalo in the park. While almost all the time you will see lots of American Bison on the Wildlife Loop Road, there is no guarantee. Been there almost a dozen times over decades. Once, we saw only a single bull on the loop. I am returning next June and plan to do the Buffalo Safari for the first time.

Australian here, I have a Studebaker 6x6 military truck ; the Australian Army purchased a job lot of these as a fill-in truck after the war until we could produce one of our own and when they did the Studebakers were sold off. I have owned this truck since 1973 and used as a fire truck. It was made in 1945 so is two years older than me and only has 20k miles on the clock. It has always been a most reliable and able truck and is a credit to it’s makers. It seems strangely ironic to me that the best makers of vehicles are the ones that went out of business first.

Nice car show! I am somewhat of a purist, but can really get into a custom car done right and that truck is an example of it being done right.

I miss my grandads stude. He had three of them that I can remember.
