This translation is very, very lost. Don't get me wrong... I understand that every language, country and culture can and does use words and their meanings in so many different ways. And obviously foreign language is commonly misconstrued and subject to miscommunication... So, given that - this translation might be a specific "take" on the song, which will undoubtedly resonate with many people. That's the nature of the song... It's incredibly moving. But I would love for anyone who takes the time to read this very long, rambling comment to listen/read/learn the true translation of this song. The original song: "con te partiro". It means "with you I will go". It's a love song. It's about undying love. Love that never dies. Love that outlasts this life. It's not about "saying goodbye"... It's about saying I'm with you always...even in death im with you. At least that's what I think. But having said all that, it's just music/art and it's subjective. Take from it whatever you want/need. This is just my take. P. S... This honestly is a rotten translation, please listen to andrea bocelli. ❤ Lol

Most people feel deeply sorrow for their own lost of closed friends or family members, but have they ever thought other dead people's family and friends feel the same way?

I never knew that there was an English version of this deeply moving song!, the original was played at the funeral of my cousin's grandmother and even now a year later I am still reminded of that sad (and depressing ) day every time I hear it. it didn't help that the service took place during a sleet storm and as there where some logistical issues with arranging transportation to and from the church where she was a parishioner the funeral was held in the local crematorium (which is a drab 1960s structure with very little soul), consequently I spent the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself and it was only after I saw my cousin again at her wedding that I really started to feel better about the whole thing.

I know it’s used for funerals but song was original meaning was for a woman leaving her family behind to marry and go with her husband it’s a sad and happy song I guess but can be used to say goodbye to loved ones to
