Just made these, they came out amazing! I did have to use a lot more milk ( like 1/2 cup more) than the recipe called for, but I know what bread dough should look like so it was all good. I used bread flour, and it's been very dry here with the heat on, , so maybe that's why...

Definitely going to try these. Thanks for the recipe. It's hard to get a good crusty roll in Canada that I remember from home.

Every time I see "Belfast Bap" written anywhere, I makes me wanna shout "YEOOO!!", teehee. Maybe that's an Northern Irish thing, lol. Those Belfast Baps (Yeooo!) look amazing Chris. I remember when I lived in Belfast, the wee greasy spoon round the corner from us used to do incredible Belfast Baps (yeooo!) But the owner decided she wanted to sell "Bagels" as well, so she took her Belfast Baps (that sounds all kinda wrong) and cut a hole in the middle of the bap and called it a bagel, lol. She also charged extra for them. Savvy lady, lol. Great recipe Chris. I'll have a go at these this weekend me thinks. Thanks so much for sharing. Lee from Co Down. :)

Happy New Year to ye🎉 Just a quick question. I made your soda bread, but it turned out flat and uncooked half way down. I had to substitute the all purpose flour with almond flour cos ye can’t get it in the shops anymore. I cooked it in a fan oven on 200c for 40 minutes, but it was slightly burnt as well. What am I doing wrong 😢

Great video. I wish you said what could be used in place of butter milk because in Ontario Canada since the COVID pandemic they all changed the recipe for buttermilk and it tastes like a dirty dish rag. Could I use sour cream?
