Thank you so much, this gave me the confidence to give my mare her first of 7 injections. Now I can do it! This was just what I needed! ❤

I hope this might be considered 'better late than never', but this kind of grid system isn't made for hoof-sized pressure (14 to 16 square inches) from directly above. They're more for auto and truck-sized tire rolling pressure from the side and it's also expected to be compacted after filling. A much smaller cell for the gravel would work a lot better. Something like what's called 'permeable pavers'. Amazon has a brand called Vodaland that looks close. They're more rigid and have better shapes for hooves. But nothing will work well without much better drainage.

I saw this was posted 4 years ago - how is your arena holding up? Looking to do one next year but wanting to get the base started this fall and let it settle at least until late spring/early summer. Hoping by then it will be good and solid and ready for the sand so I can ride in it this time next year! We have clay here which I’m told should set up nice as a base as long as it’s properly prepped.

We use this for the railroad, we dig out all the wet dirt disc it in the sun to dry it all out, put the dirt back in tamped close to grade then put down the fabric and then the cell on top and then refill with with gravel and ballast. All the time sometimes will put a double layer of cell and fabric

How much would you say you spent on sand and what kind of sand? Our area is treeless and we have equipment and people to grade it ourselves or very cheaply. We would probably need to bring dirt in but I’m wondering more on the cost of sand. Thanks!

What type of material did you use for the fencing "rails"? It appears to be rubber vs. wood. I'm looking for something like this. Currently, I'm planning to use three rows of 2-inch white poly tape. What do you think? Your video was incredibly helpful, thank you! I just had an area cleared and graded and had planned to put in footing right away, but after watching your video, I'm planning to wait until after winter and it dries out. Just worried about weed growth. How did you keep plants from growing during the year that you waited?

Have tried such stuff in my dog kennels to help with drainage and keep the dogs on a more solid surface. They really do not work and I followed the instructions to the teeth and did not skimp on gravel or materials. Find yourself a qualified sand and stone landscaper and have the proper road base sand mixes put in, the stuff at your local garden center is not what will do the

Thank you. I really appreciate your video because it's hard to find videos on how to preserve Brussels sprout plant leaves. Most of them are about the Brussels sprouts themselves. I just wanted to add a constructive comment if I may. The video is not clear (blurry) and it is dark (I believe it might be because of the light coming from the window behind you). Besides that, it is very informative and detailed. Thanks again 🙂.

Hi 👋👋 Do you guys have any advise on ground stakes to hold down the cells? IE - type and how many to buy? and place them every cell or every other cell on the parameter? Also did you leave your stakes in after the cells were filled or did you pull them? Many thanks 🙏🏼

We just tested my mare for EPM, she had a bit of a limp and head bob off and on, but another thing is her coat used to be so shiny and beautiful and recently went very dull. Her blood test came back negative, but vet wants to treat her anyway due to inflammation building. She looks similar to your horse in the round pen. The one thing I noticed recently is that she would want to take off on me, where before she never would do that. It's as if she wants to get the ride over with. Poor baby, I hope it takes care of her issues.

That is bc the more you add the more Mudd you get. You need drainage .just putting rocks under it is not going to work. I doubt this new way will work. You should not keep horses in such small muddy places. That is another reason for the Mudd. Simply use your grass paddocks. Horses need to be in larger spaces. At least 1 acres per horse.
