@divemasterzach34705 Жыл бұрын
without context it is hard to know, it looks like the initial failure was something to do with a light free flow on the mares mv octo. You can also see at 3:34 a leak coming off the octo hose where it connects to the 1st stage. Hardly a reason to take your tank off. The catastrophic failure was on the stage bottle. It still leaves the question as to why the diver turned off the air on his main tank. He was breathing just fine until he turned the air off (1:50). Notice after he turns his main tank off he gets 2 breaths then struggles to get to the stage bottle where shortly after it fails. Now with the main tank off and a quickly draining stage bottle, He has to go on someone's octo. If you do a freeze frame at 3:57 you can see the diver still has a decent amount of air left in his main tank. Turning off the air was what he did wrong. Between a free flowing octo and a blown 1st stage on the stage bottle AND the divers desire to try and fix it underwater, its probably safe to say that this diver probably doesn't get their gear serviced regularly.
@chasep255 Жыл бұрын
@@divemasterzach34705 Yeah you are pretty much right. He really should have just aborted the dive. But he also should have had the air turned on for his pony bottle, or at least confirmed it was working before switching to it. I think the DIN valve was slightly unscrewed so when he turned it on it free flowed at the first stage. The whole thing was kind of dumb. Good thing it was only 25ft of water.

How do you get dive computer data to super impose on to video?
@chasep2555 жыл бұрын
With shearwater computers you can download the dives to your desktop and export them as a csv. That csv contains all the data needed to recreate the screen of my computer sampled at 5s intervals. I then use a python script to parse the log, interpolate the samples to 1s so the time flows smoothly, and draw a frame for each second which is numbered and saved in a directory. Using ffmpeg I can turn the images into a movie of just the computer. Then I find a frame in my video where I can see the dive time on my computer and use this to get an offset between the dive video and that of the computer. Then using ffmpeg again I overlay the computer video at the correct offset.
