They Are "OUR FUTURE" listen to the Children ... Learn From Them.. I did for many, many years ... I work with & support all my kids Foster Daughter, Group Home Babes, Step Daughters all were respected and listened to by me and they knew it !

17 years later after first hearing you I am always deeply moved when I play this. Our Dancers for Harmony from four schools danced to your collective on many stages including Harbourfront in downtown Toronto. We performed for the last time at Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School on October 10, 2003 assisted by Ojibway Honourable James K Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor General of Ontario, honour four Elders and a playwright Drew Hayden-Taylor (in absentia) interviewed in my 2003 U of T MA thesis on Character Education from First Nations Perspectives, we still all get shivers when we listen to this song and re-member. Three of those Elders dance in Spirit World now. Mitakuye oyasin. Chi meegwetch. We send everyone involved in this production Love and Light in the Spirit of Aloha. You walk in Beauty. I hope you'll pass this idea on to a few of your friends so we can create a ground swell of support . Whether its her or someone else it should be an indigenous person .

I am honoured to have met Willie Dunn one special evening many years ago. About forty of us elementary school teachers sat around a Sacred Fire outside at night and sang along with him as he played the guitar. It was magical.

It's on a cd released in 1994 entitled " Children of the world - A compilation of some of Native Canada's best music " .. copies are rare on ebay but there's one there right now. I tried cutting and pasting you a direct link but youtube wouldn't let me, hope you find it.

It is so wonderful to again have access to this amazing song "Children of the World" sponsored by our Canadian government, now almost twenty years after its original release. It helped make history in Canada. On October 10, 2003 at Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School in Markham, Ontario, students from the Kids Who Care Octagon club which was first established on Oct 18, 2002 performed a choreography to this song to which other students drummed. Each of the dancers wore a sash in a different colour of the rainbow to reflect that the children represent all the colours of the rainbow of the human tribe. This song created by First Nations musicians including Susan Aglukark originally of Churchill, Manitoba was a key part of our school community celebration led by Ontario Governor General James K Bartleman of Mnjikaning First Nation who honoured the first aboriginal voices in Canada to be published in the field of Character Education in Canada. You can find her song " Vivre " which includes lyrics in her tribal language. Much of her work is in French however and is also here on youtube.
