His gift & touch was the yardstick for SO many of us way back, and much of that was of course inherent in his persecuted ancestry, which has given rise to SO many utterly brilliant devotees of the vibrating string. That movement ~ "underground Mayall blues" as I saw it ~ is even there in the great 'gypsy jazz' tradition of several European countries, and of course in the playing of such GREATS as Kreisler & Perlman etc..........RiP Peter x
