You're right, the goal was to make it affordable with basic materials! & Show that you don't need expensive materials and tools to build such a simple desk. And even after a YEAR... it's still gonna cost around $60-$75, if you add inflation! & majorly depending on where you sourced the materials from. I can share the links of materials here if you want. For your ease.

Yes if you buy it NEW.. This is a defected/discarded piece that stores sell cheaply or throw away for recycling.. All the sides were bloated by water and damaged, So I got it for dirt cheap and made them cut at the desired size. Had to Hunt a lot for this kinda material lol & it's a year old project. I agree, windows are important! It's a design choice I made for this project, because this window is just an Air duct with no view (useless for me)..and making my PC setup little awkward to view. i have another window in this room for Fresh air, greenery & sunlight with a satisfying view, same problem here bro cant live in a room without a fresh air, appreciate the feedback bro 👍

@@LEOKHANYes, please, that would be great! Thanks. Super cool project, and thanks for making it easily with common/easily accessible tools. Visual confirmation on board length/width/height would be the icing on the cake. Those boards do look a bit larger than 1x2 boards, but just barely. Are they 1x2 boards at face value, or is that actual/cut size?

You are welcome brother. Happy to see you liked the project. Kindly Come on IG. I'll share the complete size with a measuring tape, It's a camera view that makes them look a little thicker, these are exactly and precisely cut 1x2s not barely but accurately cut 1x2s. Different angles of capturing the video make them look slightly thick. I will be more than happy to share visuals and pictures with complete measurements, kindly DM me.

@LEOKHAN
@LEOKHAN 14 күн бұрын
The chassis type structure will be loose because of 1x2s. If you use 2x4s then both right & left legs can be connected by screws only. Then the upper structure can be dismantled. It will become a 3 part structure. But still you can move it easily because of it's dimensions, I move it to another room whenever I want to build something at that place. It won't get stuck in doorways, but for small tight turns yes it can be a little difficult. It's like a sofa's dimension but not that thick & heavy lol

@LEOKHAN you won't, but someone else building it may need to. People often move and that thing won't fit through most doorways with tight turns
@LEOKHAN
@LEOKHAN 15 күн бұрын
i understand what you are trying to say, that's why its dimensions are specifically been measured and cut to be moveable easily even from a narrow doorways and rooms. the design is thought out and planned before building it for a general and normal house/ rooms. if the room is seriously tiny and have tight turns then you can shrink the size according to your place. its a design that can be easily adopted to different sizes from 4ft to 10ft according to your need :) no need to dismantle

@@LEOKHAN No, your numbers are total BS for people in the US and pretty much any other "region". These are NOT "1x2's". They are 2x4's. ONE 2x4x10 would be $14 and you'd need several. The MDF for the top would be $20-25. The link to the casters in your description are $16-20. Screws are $7. Ratcheting screwdriver is $13. Hand saw $10. Tape measure $10. Super glue $10. Wood glue $5. Paint scraper $8. Drill $40. Vinyl $8. Gloves $6. Masking tape $7. Crimping tool $13. Wire stripper $9. Paint $10. PVC $10. In other words, about $200+ using your list, just like I said. Yes, you have a disclaimer but there is NO WAY this is a $50 project for 99% of the people viewing it. Not US dollars anyway. It's a good enough project that you don't need the clickbait BS title claiming that it's a $50 project. Just be honest and it's still a good project/video, but when you misrepresent it like this, don't be surprised when you get called out.
@LEOKHAN
@LEOKHAN 17 күн бұрын
Kindly read carefully, the amount/cost is of materials, (just lumber & it's parts), not the tools required, who adds tools amount to the project lol...may be it BS to you because you are unable to understand that it's made by household tools that are always available in every home, that's why it's said build it with basic tools. & You are calling 1x2s a 2x4!?!? Lol what? If you can't even see the difference between 1x2 & 2x4 then I'm sorry I can't argue on that, if you want a physical proof, plz come on IG I'll share it's measured pics for you and will show you the dimensions with a ruler & measuring tape specifically for you, And kindly go to Lowe's store & ask them for 1x2 yellow pine if you live in states. Before calling these numbers a BS, You can check online too, & you need 8 pieces It's easy to open the mouth rather than researching first brother, 10-11 months ago that lumber was under $2 a piece & after about a year it's still rite now is, under $3 a piece & you needs 8 piece total. So do the math again, And yes it's in US dollars buddy I'm not building it from a cave or something, I hunt for that MDF a lot it took time to find that discarded piece that I made them cut into a usable size, if you can't move & find this then you can find plywood+veneer or use a stain/ coloured varnish after sanding it & you will get the top under that amount if you want to build it seriously. Even After a year, yes there could be $10- $15 US dollars difference rite now, but not what you are counting and calling a BS numbers. Be my guest I'll guide you through these BS numbers, and I'm always here to correct your misguiding & click bait CLAIMS.. No offence brother, but your comment feels like written in Anger or something that we didn't get it... Kindly take a deep breath and check again, if you are facing any issues, I'll help you find all the materials if you Wana build it.... (Not tools!) 🤦🏻

Hey man awesome work, Just a little suggestion (in case of fire) and you need to exit through that window, i would suggest mont 2x wall-mounted "slide rail" this will allow you to quickly just slide it away from window in case you want to let air in, or get out as i said if something happens... seconds counts in an emergency! - Otherwise LOOVE that awesome work!

Thanks brother 🙏🏻 thanks a lot. I'm glad you liked it.. and yes your suggestion is perfect for these types of windows, but this window is actually an air duct window. Unusable for an emergency exit or natural light. Your appreciation means a lot! 🙌🏼
