6:48 that is not the regular speed at all, for some reason they played deer dance at 3x speed at this concert which is why serj was out of breath and thrown off. I closely observed serjs vocals for years now and I can accurately say there is nothing he still cant do. He has shown time and time again that every single thing he did before is still very much dooable. Not only the screaming but the vocals themselves can be the same they were before

You can't compare them, to each his style, serj is better at growls and lower parts, chester is better at those gritty and harsh screams and also the soft parts. Would have been magical if they made music together and harmonized im the soad style

I can't help but serj won all rounds for me but I wanna mention that round 5 kinda close in a way. Daron's greatest skills were his screams and his crazyness both of which I don't see represented in these clips as he might have lost them over time or maybe the clips didn't represent his current music very well

Man I wish Serj could've at least learn false cords screams, they are easy and one of the safest ways to scream, (and doesn't matter if you're old or young)

@@rody8376 hey, expect the video late tomorrow. I’m having trouble exporting the video from the editing software. I’m trying to figure it out. My goal was to have the video up at 8am tomorrow but I’m going to need to try and fix it tomorrow after work so it’ll get pushed back to the evening.
@rody8376Ай бұрын
@ZombieRoca no worries take ur time i watched the live show twice already know was so good. I cant believe the have you ever wanted to die part it only reinforced the idea that he still has it. I recently saw a podcast where he was talking bout his voice and screaming and he said that when he gets angry or into it he can scream perfectly but when its not there it just comes out as a squeak. And i noticed this when he performs live his old voice usually comes out when he gets angrier, moves more. You never see him pull the old voice when he finger wags. He always becomes more animated and it used to look effortless especially in 2013, the berlin show was full of surprise screams and there he was just off the charts. But yeah lol sorry for turning this into an essay
@ZombieRocaАй бұрын
@@rody8376 no worries, I enjoyed reading what you had to say. I completely agree with what you said. When Serj is feeling it his voice really does give it to him. It’ll be very apparent in the best moments video coming later today at 5pm pacific time.

im a newer fan so i could be totally off, but to me it sounds more like just a change in style or technique, over like losing something he can’t ever get back. I read up on it a bit and some fans believe he “lost it” it sounds like, read a comment or two saying that on a different post. It just sounds to me like the man began struggling because lack of breath control and technique. Because he can still scream that much is apparent, its just the growly aggressive vocals he gets winded on. Im sure if he really wanted to he could practice that up, regain his voice and continue from there, but he doesn’t want to, which is a key thing to keep in mind. If he doesn’t want to then chances are he’s not going to. He said it himself in a QnA I believe, I only saw a snippet but in the snippet he says in regards to going back in his evolution of vocals to be “artistically redundant” to go back to something he’s already done, or well something along the lines of that. Though this being said, i’m still on mesmerize n hypnotize, but so far i’m enjoying his vocals still
