there's a lot of things that i didn't consider when making this tutorial. it's also extremely outdated. it's really not compatible with the input system. i'd have to rewrite most of it + create a whole new series.

@Roundbeargames2 ай бұрын
well it's hard to say what's proper or not because every game is different. you can have the same results with completely different code. all i can say is "as long as it works and is manageable".

If your USB cable does NOT work, then it is probably a USB power cable vs a USB data cable. Data cables can transmit power and data, but power cables only transmit power. There is no way to tell unless you have the packaging or try the cable out. Its a pain.

Could you please show more examples how to use the job system without ECS DOTS. If ECS DOTS is included it will just become much more complicated. I and I think many others are already struggling with the BurstCompile using Job. Woudl be extremely happy if you could make a few examples. For example using a cube that in a random direction and 1000 or more cubes are following the first cube. Similar as in a snake game. I would love to use a manager that manages all cubes and uses burst without DOTS.

Hi, This video is old but I have to ask, how is it not lagging with so many raycasts?

Its mostly coding basics. Optimization

@@Roundbeargames What do you think is roughly the amount of raycasts you did on this project without it lagging? I'm just struggling to optimize a similar fov system on a different engine and I have no idea if the amount I can currently handle is good enough because I'm still getting a weird artifact happening on far away shadow edges when I move the aim and I do not notice it happening in your implementation.

I have a problem ! I want to animate a hand ! It's generic and not humanoid isn't it ? I did it with humanoid avatar but just a hand avatar I can't ! I'm lost :(( I mapped bone by bone but it doesn't work.

if your entire model is a hand you probably wanna go with generic. you also need a programmer if you're writing an app

To dumb it down and I know this sounds stupid but I think about it like this; when deallocating memory (freeing up memory) using pointers, I’d like to imagine a pointer shooting a laser to disintegrate that object and it be like “hey look this spot is free again.”
@Roundbeargames7 ай бұрын
Sounds literally like a "pointer" :) tho personally i try not to get too imaginative with it. In the end its just an address.

I had just started learning unity last month in some online courses. At first i learn moving the box, in the lesson after that they teach us making some kinda flappy birds game, and naively i quit, and jump to youTube looking what interest me more. And now, im very confused 😢 Back to the basic parts? Or continue exploring the current project? Whats the best for me you think? So far i learn i think more than basic, but i feel my skill is very short and not deep. -moving character -configure the animations set up -state machine I cant: -detect collision and play specific animations based hit point Help me please... :( Many Thanks in advance
@Roundbeargames7 ай бұрын
people that only to stick to game engines like unity generally don't like coding. if you don't like coding you can't make your own game unless you have lots of resources to hire people. my recommendation has always been the same. first thing you wanna do is find out whether you enjoy coding or not. pick a language other than c#. start by googling what should be your first programming language, and pick a course. the best ones are either free or extremely affordable. once you finish some courses you'll have a bunch of new questions. forget unity and c#.
