Good question, it's a bit difficult to tell. I listened to a live performance and it sounded like what I charted here. Also the three kicks are in triplet time so this kind of makes sense and it's convenient to play R, R, RLR, R

They aren't perfectly in sync with the hihat track so that might make the kicks sound like triples on some speakers or headphones

If you're having a hard time with it try skipping the ghost notes which are the smaller red snares and just focus on the accents, the bigger red ones. And if you later wanna try the ghost notes they're played softly with just one hand. Good luck! 👍

The thing I like about Raining Blood is that I actually stand a chance at keeping up with it. This song is so beyond me. No matter how much I practice, I'm not built for these extended periods at these fast bpms.

I'm not meaning to start s*** right now. I am genuinely curious... Do you think he recorded these without too much technical assistance from studio touch ups? I am mainly a guitarist and dabble on the drums. I played along to this without a chart and was like "dang well if he can keep up with this at his age, he's a legend." Not that he isn't one of the most influential metal drummers already. People give Lars a lot of beef, but the drums on this song are very tasty and inventive for him. Really enjoyed the new album too.

They record mostly without a click track and the tempo is constantly going up and down, especially during fills. Some of the songs even have weird "timing errors" that they just left in. This has always been typical for them. Surely they do some touching up like everyone else but generally it sounds and feels authentic. They're under a magnifying glass because they're the biggest band but I actually think they're more authentic on the album than most bands these days 😁

Thanks man! The hh symbol on the bottom indicates that there are pedal hihats. They’re distracting for less experienced players as notes and more experienced players know when to play them 👍
