I mean it's a visual novel :) so if you are coming at it as a Deckbuilder it's going to be too heavy on the dialogue If you are coming at it as a visual novel its going to be to heavy on random battles/events Tuning for those two things would be hard if you do one then the other, but if they could weave the story in during the fights that might help convey the story without postponing the action, making it feel a bit less wordy to a deck builder player ... for the narrative player it gives some purpose to the deckbuilding/battles in that its how you move the dialogue forward
@SkillIncarnateАй бұрын
Good points. I have played some games where visual novel is combined with other gameplay mechanics more seamlessly than what is done here. With that being said the game does get a great deal better after the opening act so it is worth sticking with

One thing I would say wish this game add and it will make it so much more popular , is actual death and wounds from animals, imagine before going to the bear or lions spot need to make sure you move them to a closed area first for safety , or you may have some mischief monkeys escaping and wracking real chaos everywhere and you have to catch them quick, and the more you handle a specific animal the more they be more familiar with you and you can slowly remove the fear from you
@SkillIncarnate2 ай бұрын
Agreed. An animal health mechanic would have added more immersion. Also you can wander around dangerous animals pens without worrying about safety. A trust system where you gradually get them to feel comfortable in the enclosure would have been a welcome addition.

The games graphics put me off buying it initially but after watching you play i decided to give the game a shot. As a terraria fan this was exactly what im looking for even if the developers decided to not add cooperative. Great budget survival game, i got it for under 20 dollars.

The game is bad. After you complete the Hallow Halls there is nothing to do, unless you consider farming chests for better/different loot as something to do. Or I suppose you could plant crops, always a thrilling avenue to explore. You're in the game as the Flameborn, sent to vanquish the shroud. But it doesn't matter how many elixir wells you destroy or shroud roots you chop down, the shroud never recedes. I did read somewhere that Keen games, the developers, are going to make major updates and world events in 2025. I think I'll just play Valheim.
@SkillIncarnate4 ай бұрын
Many mmorpgs can suffer from this problem. There's no endgame or overarching goal and you end up just grinding forever. I haven't hit the hallowed halls yet but I have been enjoying the games combat and build system. I think we can both agree that valheim is awesome though. That game has so much to do that I've never become bored

Skill, love your videos. They are always high quality and informative. I have played the previous two Farm Manager games. I have enjoyed both and totally agree with your analysis of the type of game it is. A couple tips that worked well in the last two games. Fish farms were very profitable at a low cost and never need more than one employee. Sheep were always my first animal. They were cheaper than cows. They also have four byproducts milk, wool, manure and meat when you get that far. Pumpkins were always a great investment crop. They had a long shelf life and the sale price would peak in late December if they still have fluctuating sales prices. Crops with no machinery I found was always best to keep at 3x3. The work time needed by the workers were based off the size of the field. So two 3x3 field were worked faster than one 3x9 field with the same amount of employees. So I would keep all my fields small until I could afford machinery. None of these may work in this new game but if they do I found they very beneficial when you have very limited funds. The wool never expired so I would save it sale it for emergencies. Keep up the great content.

Thanks so much for your kind words. It appears that farming content is very popular amongst the community and this game was suggested by some of my viewers.
