Beautiful video and such a profound reflection-'nothing changes, if nothing changes' really hits home. For me, it’s a reminder that growth and adventure often live on the other side of discomfort. Whether it’s stepping out of a routine, shifting perspective, or, like this hike, pushing through effort to reach something incredible, the reward comes in embracing the process of change. It’s not always easy, but it's always worth it. Thanks for sharing this inspiring journey; Kane Lake is definitely on my list now!

I did a solo trip to this lake in the mid 80's (I'm an Idaho native). I remember sitting in my tent alone that night reading "Shardik" a novel by Richard Adams about a monster bear that ripped people's faces off. I managed to scare myself quite a lot. As soon as I saw that iconic rock face it brought back memories. One of the nicest lakes in the Sawtooths.

I watched this getting emotional, tears in my eyes because I spent 5 summers on the Death Canyon trail crew in the late 70s. We lived in the Death Valley Ranger station and later in the summer moved farther up the canyon in a big canvas tent. The guys, the camaraderie, the beautiful scenery, and the hard but fulfilling work. One time we were working on the Death Canyon shelf trail and a thunderstorm blew in. We all took shelter under trees except our foreman Burt, a Cherokee from Oklahoma. I can still picture him swinging his mattock with lightning flashing all around us. We yelled at him, “Burt, get under a tree before you get hit by lightning.” He reluctantly did, that guy was such a hard worker, we all respected him immensely. We worked 10-4, work ten days get four days off and what did we do on our days off? First go into Jackson to the Cowboy or Rancher bar and hoist a few beers and then go back out and hike the Teton Trails. We loved that area so much. I hiked all the trails in this vid in those five summers.

@@browsman2328 ❤️ I love this so much. What beautiful memories you have. Those thunderstorms in the Tetons are no joke. Scary as hell but they make the best memories. Burt seems like my kind of guy. I remember as a young child making it to the ridge below Tablerock. My parents left me and my brothers under some trees during the scariest storms I ever saw. They continued off up to the summit.
