Best decade ever,we had problems with like the miner's strike in 84,but apart from that that was terrible should have never have started, Britain was booming steel making, all industry was going, brilliant TV plenty to watch, good adverts very memorable, nicer society people was more warming, stuck by each other not this dog eat dog shit, more happier, Britain it self was great,as they used to call us,great Britain best cars made, best for even thing,NHS was out of ths world. Not like now gone down tbe shit house, tbe man that started if off a Welsh like my selfThen Maggie Thatcher come in in 79,and made one right bastard mess.

Complete and utter BS!! Britain was not booming; in the early '80s the UK was in another recession. Despite the Tories getting the Saatchii Brothers to create their "Labour isn't Working" poster to win the 1979 Election, by the time of the Miner's Strike there was close to 3 million unemployed. There was just 2 million under Labour BTW. Oh, and have you forgotten the riots against Thatcher's Police Force during the summer months of 1981, in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, etc.? Obviously. There were more in 1985. AND interest rates went up to 16%, forcing many to lose the homes Thatcher incouraged them to buy. Forgotten all the sell-offs of Gas, Lecky, and water have we? That's put us all up shit creek today! "...,all industry was going, brilliant" Oh really? Do you mean the British Car industry that was on its knees, and way behind the Japanese or even the Italian car manufacturers who were using robots to build cars! They still had strikers too tho. "...Nicer Society.." ?? Maybe where you lived. What Rose-tinted tosh!! :-0
