@@boostedhatch3 Correct, totally bone stock except for the axle back. We both thought it was very quiet at the time, but it is a great sound. Dinans paired with high flow cats or catless sound amazing. We both ended up getting Meisterschaft systems later, which we also were huge fans of. I miss the heck out of this car, and truly wish I’d kept it.

One question, why would you let your oil level get so low in the first place? It takes 10 seconds to check the oil level when you have the electric read out in front of you. As long as your car is warmed up and level you have more than enough time to check it whilst waiting at some traffic lights...

After college did you move back in with your parents for a bit to save $? Did you buy a place right out of school? Real estate investing > buying cool cars?
@sgfreak963 ай бұрын
After college I lived in Texas for 1 yr and had a cheap apartment for $1k a month, then I moved back to PA and rented a room from a friend for $500 a month for another two years or so. That was back before the real estate boom ruined the market for everything. That was the time I was heavily buying/selling cars because I had so much spare $$ to play with! I worked for about 1.5 years and spent $0 on anything until Feb 2020 I bought my first Cayman. I graduated school in May of 2018. Hope this helps man, and hope you are well!!

Hi Chris, when I enter my my make model and year on Mobil's website it is telling me to use "Mobil 1™ FS 5W-30". In the video, you use 0W-40. Any reason why you chose that oil? I have a 6-cylinder 2011 E90 328i xDrive Sedan. Thanks.
@sgfreak964 ай бұрын
Hey what’s up Vishal, you can use 5w-30 or 0w-40 like I did. 0w-40 is a thicker oil and my engine was high mileage so I wanted to try it out as I read a lot of other BMW owners used it as well. You can find more out about the differences between the two types of oil online - I’m probably not the best to explain it and I certainly don’t want to mislead you lol. 0w-40 is safe to use though for your 328.

Dude, thanks for this info..watched it a dozen times.... I have a question you may be able to answer..... those rpm number... 61mph in first gear is wild, can a tune be done to reflect the gear shifts of 06-08 ? I found a gorgeous 05 but sure would love to get out of gear at 47mph. Also, my brother, thanks to this video, I looked up its location to find it's from New Hampshire knowing I need to take care of that drive shaft assembly asap.... thanks again
@sgfreak966 ай бұрын
Really glad you enjoyed the video! Definitely get whatever car you decide to buy a thorough look-over by a mechanic you trust. I can’t stress that enough. As for the gearing, the only way to get the 06-08 gear ratios would be to actually swap in the physical gearset from one of those cars into an 04-05 car. A tune can make the actual shifts be quicker/smoother, but it won’t change the 61mph 1st gear redline, because the physical gears in the transmission are what determine the speeds that the car reaches in each gear. One other unconventional and possibly easy method would be to change the final drive ratio in the differential, effectively lowering the top speed of every single gear across the board; your only issue there is 5th and 6th gear would possibly be lowered significantly to speeds that are not fast at all. Sorry, thats a lot of blabbering but I hope this helps. One final thing to check for - cylinder scoring. Have your mechanic use a borescope to look into the cylinders and check the cylinder walls out. If there’s any scoring, I would walk away. A youtuber named “effspot” bought his 08 superleggera around the time I had my car. It currently needs the whole engine rebuilt because of that.
@ndpesicgroup6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the info...makes sense that it's the actual gears and not a simple fix, I overlooked the obvious lolol... after your video I started searching for 06, but as you can guess, she distracted me lol... again, I appreciate you brother, have a happy Sunday !!!
